First Rituximab Infusion
My consultant began by telling me my lumbar puncture came back clear and my flexible
sigmoidoscopy
showed mild Colitis, which he hopes the Rituximab will also treat. First I was given 100mg Methylprednisolone, followed by antihistamine and paracetamol & then the infusion began.

Hello i am new to this community but I have recently had a

Living with bowel endo!
I have had a
sigmoidoscopy
and biopsy done which confirm this (and thankfully rules out any other causes) and two laparoscopies one in 2014 and one in October this year. My bowel was not touched due to risk of complications and a possibilty of stoma (my choice).

IBS related flatulence
Hi all, so I had my
sigmoidoscopy
at the beginning of November, and it's all clear. I decided to go back onto my anti depressants and the mebeverine for IBS C, and for some reason the mebeverine seems to work this time. Gut pain is a lot better, and bowels are a bit more regular.

Recently diagnosed with ANCA Vasculitis.
On Tuesday I had a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
to determine the cause of my gi troubles. 3 biopsies were taken and doc said there's a possibility it could be Colitis. Today I had a head MIR and will be seeing my consultant in 10 days to discuss results.

Low calcium levels
Went for tests inc
sigmoidoscopy
, scans and numerous blood tests. Doctor informed me that the cause was scar tissue on my bowel causing it almost to look like a balloon (she felt what she thought was a mass). Blood tests showed my calcium levels were worryingly low. I’m on adcal tablets for life.

Endo in pouch of Douglas symptoms...?
Because of no endo showing on the outside of my bowel, I've had a
sigmoidoscopy
to check for endo in my sigmoid colon. And there was none. However....I'm still getting rectal bleeding during my period, albeit it seems less than it was when this all started.

Bowel endo. How long for bsge centre referral?
I am very aware mine appears to be quite an unusual case, mine has been diagnosed from biopsies at flexi
sigmoidoscopy
which suggests the disease is very deeply infiltrating. Am now looking at a specialist centre referall, but anxious about how long I may have to wait for this 🙄 xx

what might an endoscopy reveal?
(I suspect that with IBS the problems are lower down and would show up on a
sigmoidoscopy
)

CT vs ultrasound vs laparoscopy
Recently had an appointment with gastro consultant after unsuccessful flexible
sigmoidoscopy
(they think my womb may possibly be stuck to colon) although the doctor doing the flexible
sigmoidoscopy
suggested I may need a CT to get a better look the consultant says he didnt want to do that for a woman

IBS Meds?
I'm going into hospital on the 2nd to have a
sigmoidoscopy
, which should be lots of fun :/ lol I'm hoping it just confirms IBS C and is nothing more serious than that.

I need help...
I went for a
sigmoidoscopy
yesterday, but was told nothing showed up so they took some biopsies which won't be back for at least 4 weeks. I am in absolute agony and don't know what to anymore, has anyone had the same experience?

IBD or IBS?
I haven't - I had (from what I can gather) a
sigmoidoscopy
. My test took 10 mins max, I had no sedation and I did not have to drink anything beforehand to clear me out, so I know it was not a colonoscopy! The (I presume) omeprazole has also completely stopped all my diarrhoea.

Flexi Sigmoidoscopy
Had this procedure this morning and wanted to report that it was absolutely fine! I’d read a lot of negative stories online but I shouldn’t have worried. It was far easier than trying to have my Mirena removed! I didn’t have sedation, just a little gas and air and it wasn’t bad at all. So if you need

sigmoidoscopy?
I recently wrote saying I was going to have a colonoscopy but when I got my letter from consultant he's opted for a
sigmoidoscopy
instead. Has anyone had one before . From what I gather it's pretty similar to Colonoscopy just don't go up as far?

Sigmoidoscopy
Hi all, after years of gut complaints I finally got referred to a gastroenterologist, and after a quick examination he decided I should have a
sigmoidoscopy
. I was just wondering if anyone else has had one and can tell me what to expect.

Succumbing to depression....
It's been 13 months since my diagnosis, I've gotten through a diagnostic lap, a
sigmoidoscopy
, a Mirena, a disastrous zoladex trial, a vomit laden picolax bowel prep, my excision and bowel shave, a week in hospital with viral meningitis, 3 agonising lumbar punctures a horrendous enema, and the post

Could my endometriosis be growing back?
I had a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
done on September 6th, and I saw what looked like endometriosis in my colon. Although the endoscopic nurse said that the flexible
sigmoidoscopy
was normal. But I am hoping that my specialist/surgeon will give me some answers.

Hi, I'm new:)
I have a
sigmoidoscopy
in a few weeks but having to stop the Imodium now in preparation has really had an effect on me. I am a teacher and it is very difficult for me to take time off, but have had to today.
