Would I absorb B12 in tablet form if I had PA?
Hi all, On a hunt to figure out the cause of my continued iron loss... Had an iron infusion in July 2021 and I'm now back to deficiency. GP has done all they can, confirmed by private GP. The guidelines now assume iron loss is related to periods... except mine are very light and only last a day so

My daughter's blood tests, could someone take a look please .
My daughter is 12. She doesn't have any diagnosed thyroid problems but our GP has run various blood tests due to regular nosebleeds and occasional migraines with aura. I persuaded them to check her thyroid and iron panel aswell. I've pushed for this with our family history of autoimmune thyroid problems

Serum ferritin too high?
Can anyone tell me whether 286 is too high for a serum ferritin level? I had an iron infusion a few months ago and this is my new level. I have been feeling very anxious, having panic attacks, not sleeping etc... and was wondering if it could be because of this? At the same time of the infusion I

Neutrophils
Hi everyone new here. I've just got my bloods back from gp and I have low white cell count (neutrophils) this leaves me open to infection as I'm sure your all aware that is a side effect of Roactemra. The consultant has now stopped my injection for 1 week and then repeat bloods in 4 weeks. My question

Face to face consultation
I was diagnosed with PV in Dec 2015. I used to be quite active on this site and received so much reassurance and good advice in those early confusing days. Since my husband's death in Sept 2020, I have not been active on here, however I read posts occasionally. I have not had a face to face consultation

lab work 8 weeks post iron infusion - advice?
I had an infusion of Injectafer 750 mg on April 29 and had labs drawn exactly 8 weeks later per advice or information on this lifeline :) Now I would truly appreciate hearing some fellow RLS sufferers thoughts and advice on iron infusion and medications. I’m currently still symptomatic but much improved

Full blood counts
Does anyone use a blood count machine that uses just a pinprick drop of blood? The hospital my wife is under seems to use an inordinate amount of blood to test her FBC, which being so anemic she can't really afford to lose. And now the gastrointestinal consultant has decided that she shouldn't have RBCs

Looking for a neurologist
My doctor has told me that he will prescribe Buprenorphine for me if I can get a neurologist to authorise it. I am having a really tough time with restless legs and want to come off ropinirol as soon as possible. I have also developed what appears to be preripheral neuropathy but it still needs investigation

Running low on iron
I have been put on Ferrous Sulphate but I can’t use it. My blood test for ferritin is 44 ug/L & it is only that high because I ate red meat I did do in desperation because the test last year was 10ug/L. I am vegetarian & I have great difficulty eating meat it seems to be hard to process for me. Anyhow

Does endoscopy replace colonoscopy?
Hello beautiful PA fam, I wanted to know if any of you guys with PA also have gastritis from it and therefore have to get upper endoscopy and colonoscopy periodically. The reason I'm asking, my doctor did a upper endoscopy on me and told me I didn't need a colonoscopy for the next 10 years and it

Exercise
Hi all, I'm due for repeat liver enzyme tests next week for slightly elevated GGT and ALT, I've stopped drinking since Feb ( apart from a beer last weekend) and I've started weight training at the gym. I'm starting to lose weight but I've read weight training can cause elevated liver enzymes and to not

Clotting
Since taking over my PA treatment with frequent injections, my symptoms have greatly ameliorated. However, there's one thing I hadn't anticipated. Recently I've had to have a couple of teeth extracted. Each time I've ended up in casualty because the bleeding wouldn't stop, and wondered about B12.

Confusing biopsy results
I was diagnosed with PA early 2023 after years of feeling hopeless and helpless, ( raised MCV , low 'normal' serum B12, positive Parietal Cell antibodies, no intrinsic factor antibodies) and I am SI B12 regularly, to which I am responding well, and finally starting to feel like I am coming out the

Do PPIs affect absorption of thyroid meds?
Hi, quick question - I've got acute gastritis at the moment. I'm taking 15mg lansoprazole. I also take Armour. I'm worried the lansoprazole is going to affect how my Armour is absorbed. Has anyone had this problem? GP told me to take them at different times of day, but I hardly think that will help
