Given Pernicious Anaemia diagnosis today
Hi I have had a phone call today, telling me that I have this condition. I have to repeat the blood test tomorrow (for levels?) and start a course of 6 initial jabs over two weeks as soon as that is back. It does explain so much re the symptoms I have been having for a long time. In past years I have

Advice on ferritin of 18
So here are my recent b12 and ferritin results. B12 looks ok, but ferritin is 18 (range is 15 - 300).I’m tired and my hair is falling out. My TSH is suppressed, and T3 and T4 towards the top of the range. I have no worries about these levels. Question?- will maintaining my healthy, iron rich diet, along

Interdependance of iron load and thyroid function
The interrelationship between iron load and thyroid function is pretty well accepted, but I post here a paper showing the effect in children (can extrapolate safely to adults I think). It underlines the need for good iron loading to help rule out or confirm hypothyroidism.

Elevated Liver Enzymes (ALT and AST)?
Anyone deal with elevated liver numbers? Its become a struggle since increasing from 25mg to 50mg Peg. Last time I didnt touch alcohol for two weeks and both numbers were generally in line (around 40). This go around same story but both numbers were in the low 60s. Curious if others deal with inconsistent

Not diagnosed, but suspected
Edit: letter from haematologist- BCR/ABL and JAK2 are negative m, awaiting rarer test results, but he thinks could be related to infection / endocrine issues. Relieved, but puzzled! Thank you everyone for replying, I guess I was premature in posting!! Hi. I’m just struggling today as I’m in that waiting

COVID booster jab now in doubt?
Hi, Trying to work this out rationally and objectively but would appreciate input from others in the same boat. The news today revealed that WHO are not happy with countries going ahead with booster (3rd) jabs when other less developed countries like Africa are still trying to source for first jabs.

Good morning from the UK. After being without my B12 injections for 5 years due to a young doctor saying they weren’t need any longer and feeling so poorly thankfully I found this post and I was so grateful to so many of you rallying to help me. I’m asking for advice again please, I have now had 2 injections

Iron Infusions - the type of iron used may matter.
Here is a rather long and confusing article. Read it if you need to be lulled to sleep. https://journals.physiology.org/doi/full/10.1152/japplphysiol.91076.2008 In it I found a ridiculously interesting paragraph as follows: "Deficits in regional brain iron and changes in uptake and efflux of brain

Advice please
Hi, I was advised by someone over on the thyroid community to post my Vitamin b12 blood test results here for advice. I had a rest with Thriva while testing my thyroid and based on those results my GP tested me again on the NHS. He now tells me my levels are normal, but the input from the thyroid community

Has anyone achieved a reduction in fatigue from PMR through the introduction of tocilizumab (Actemra) into their treatment regimen?
Lately it seems as though my fatigue and depression are getting worse. I've had PMR for about 3 years now and it seems as though I am going downhill in so far as exhaustion is concerned. I almost have no desire, and to some extent, no ability to get anything done. I have read that the IL6 pathway is

Getting there….🏃♀️
After dealing with cancer, radiotherapy , chemotherapy , a stem cell transplant & a total hip replacement less then 10mts ago - I have just completed week 6 & Run 2! The thought of catching COVID because of my health issues has kept me locked away for nearly 2yrs - getting back out there to run has helped

Methylcobalamin injections?
Hi, I am a B12 deficienct newbie and was reading that the methylcobalamin has some advantages over cyanocobalamin. Do you know if this can be purchased in injectable form anywhere please. Shall I try injections?
After the advice I received 11 months ago on this forum I decided to try supplements (igennus super b) rather than MMA test which is expensive. After a few months I started to feel a bit better and could do more physically. Up to a couple of weeks ago I felt quite normal although still couldn’t do
