I haven't seen Haematologist for some time, like most and have had letter today with blood results from tele consultation end July.
Haemoglobin of 155 g/L with a satisfactory PCV of 0.448. White count of 5.61 x 10 power of 9 /L with a normal differential and platelets of 493 x 10 power of 9/L. When I see him next I want him to explain. This is a copy of letter to doctor. I hope these results are acceptable.
The only 1 I usually look at is my red platelets which have never been as low as 493 so that is goo.
Many thanks, Jenny.

Platelets and red blood cells are different things. A haematocrit below 0.45 is the level to aim for (PCV, or packed cell volume, is the same thing), white blood cell count of 4-11 x 10^9 is the normal range according to my online record, and platelets should be in the range 150-400 x 10^9. So it looks as if your platelets are a bit high, but if they are lower than they have been before that's a good sign.
I believe paradiastole hit all the numbers just right. This looks like the profile of someone being successfully treated for ET. That assumes you remain free of thrombosis, hemorrhage, microvascular symptoms, and other secondary symptoms. There is no particular value to trying to get you platelets any lower than they are now unless it provides symptom relief. 600 is a recognized target level for platelets when a numeric is used.
Many thanks Hunter, value your opinion on many of these posts and most helpful to me. Hope you continue on your path which seems to be improving these days!
