My sister was in same position as you. She has a severe lung condition IPL and she caught covid off her son who lives with her. She is over 80 and is fully recovered. I hope that this is of some comfort.

Have you been vaccinated? Several members of my family including two of my daughters caught Covid and luckily all have recovered. It just shows the importance of vaccinating our young people?

Wonder if the faint line was anything to do with having just had the 2nd jab (good on him for getting vaccinated, wish all young people would so well done him).My friend's son 18 caught covid a few days before 18 year olds were offered the vaccination, shame because his dad was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. He isolated in his room, Emma took food and drink & left it outside the door. He was happy to do it to protect his dad. Both parents isolated too as they both work closely to patients/ clients. Henry wasn't too bad, flu-ish with a cough and sore throat. Both parents used to sanitising their practice rooms wearing ppe so that helped too.

I'd get a box of disposable gloves for collecting & dealing with his plates, mugs etc.

Take every precaution to protect yourself however extreme it may feel. Good luck. P

Thank you , yeah I work in. Care so I’m always in ppe , and at home I have masks, gloves etc I’m always going on with sanitise everything etc I just didn’t think this would be so close to home literally , amd thing is due to my problems and his brother n sister being vulnerable he limits going out only goes to the gym , but Saturday he decided him and his mates was going to a nightclub then this happens so who knows x

My understanding is that if the PCRis positive then you will be required to do lateral flow tests but may go out and work if you are fully covid jabbed and your results are negative. Just be cautious around him if he’s positive x

Yeah his test come back positive I’ve got to wait till mine come back then if negative I can go to work it’s silly coz if was last week I’d of had to isolate

I agree, I don't fully understand the need to no longer isolate as no vaccine is 100%. I would ask your care setting if they are happy for you to return? With regards to having Covid I unknowingly had it and passed it to my 92 year old Mum . She took a while to recover understandably but stayed at home , no oxygen needed, and with her new addition of Fostair inhaler is better than she has been in a while. She has Bronchiectasis.I am sure if your son can isolate in his room and the person least at risk can deliver food you will be fine. I hope he isn't feeling poorly. Take Care

Thank u , so far his had a headache , my test come back negative today so I’m allowed to go to work , im double vaccinated and I take daily lft so as long as all negative i b ok for work it’s funny because I wasn’t allowed to go and have a blood test today at the hosp as I should be isolating so after explaining the negative test and double vac they said oh ok come and have it as u work in a care setting , this blood test was for clotting so needed it done
