What do people class as an asthma attack?
I’m just wondering what people here class as an asthma attack? It’s just that I regularly see people writing that they’ve had an asthma attack. I’ve got Brittle asthma and generally class an attack as when I need my ventilin inhaler enough that I need steroids or end up on nebs or in hospital. I was

Humidity
My son has been really struggling since November last year when his
asthma
suddenly turned from mild to
severe
following a virus/high temp. He’s now on two brands of anti histamine, Seretide, Montelukast, and a nose spray - his triggers are many including humidity.

What I wish I had asked my GP/asthma nurse (when first diagnosed 😉)
What type of
asthma
do I have? - day to day it won’t change much, but knowing what type you have may help you identify and remove triggers or at least how to manage them!

Symbicort 100/6 for COPD?
Hi. I've just been prescribed this inhaler in place of Fostair. I was diagnosed with COPD in 2010 after initial confusion as to whether I had Asthma. The tests confirmed COPD not Asthma. Reading the package leaflet it tells me this inhaler is SPECIFICALLY for Asthma! It doesn't even mention COPD! In

LJI scientists uncover immune cells that may lower airway allergy and asthma risk.
Others have a much more

Learning about Asthma through Covid-19
Hello, I can honestly say, that I have learnt more about my asthma in the 3 or so months since the pandemic started than anyone ever told me about it in the 20 years prior. When suddenly I was classed as "vulnerable" I did some searching to find out why. Turns out I really didn't (don't?) understand

Asthma inhaler side effects
My asthma is well controlled and I take one puff of fostair 100/6 (I’ve had asthma for about a year now.) I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with negative side effects from their inhaler? I think I have some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism (weight gain, tiredness, slightly low heart rate).

AUKs face mask exemption graphic
Hi all. Another copy and paste from the Facebook page but hope this helps with some of the anxiety over face masks: “The government have said that people with asthma who find face coverings make it harder for them to breathe do not need to wear one, but we know lots of you have said that you feel nervous

Does anyone have asthma and COPD overlap syndrome? how common is this syndrome or is it often misdiagnosed?
My GP suspects I may have asthma/COPD overlap. Due to the current pandemic I’m unable to have spirometry test or chest x-Ray. I had asthma as a child and I’m an ex-smoker. My asthma has manifested again in the year. I am worrying whether my breathing will ever be stable again! The only COPD symptom I
