Clear cell cancer - surgery only?
Hi everyone. I am new here. Would be grateful to hear anyone who has had surgery only for clear cell ovarian cancer. I had surgery in March and was diagnosed stage 3B, but oncologist advised chemo not proven to be effective and with added issues with COVID I opted not to have chemo. Unfortunately recurred

New to asthma - Rocket launcher approach?
Hi all, I’m newly diagnosed (peak flow meter that I used and submitted data). Had my first asthma appointment over the phone yesterday. I’m 29 and have never been diagnosed before now/ felt that I struggle to breathe. The only thing is when I run in the cold my throat completely closes up and I’m

hi there, this question is for anyone who has asthma and has had covid or knows someone who has. how do you tell the difference? I've been experiencing a pretty bad flare-up for the last few days but I genuinely don't know if it's just my asthma or something else. I'm a waitress so I constantly have

Coronavirus vaccine FAQs
In the case of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine (the only one which has completed testing) there were no meaningful differences in how well it works in people with health conditions that put them at risk of
severe
Covid-19 (including diabetes, high blood pressure,
asthma
and obesity.)

Out of control severe asthma & choking again
Does anyone else choking issues with

, which significantly improves with steroids?! I feel like I’m going round in circles, I don’t know what to do or who to talk to (and I’m scared!)

Going back to work
Quick question.. i'm due back at work this September, its only part time but due to
severe
asthma
and allergies i cough/sneeze/wheeze even on a good day. I'm worried I'll get sent home all the time since this covid pandemic.

Asthma and underweight issues
As a child my
asthma
was
severe
and my parents were frequent called into my school as they were concerned about my low weight. My mum really struggled to get me to eat enough.

Boring Asthma Post
So, its been a little while since have posted, but for those of you that follow me, you will know I've really been struggling with my asthma of late. The last month of C25K was a constant battle of getting up earlier and earlier in the morning to try and beat the pollen, and having to take more and more

IBS - really diverticulitis?
I used to have IBS - for around 13 years - then had perforated bowel and stoma fitted 6 months ish ago - this was sudden and life threatening -for those with these kinds of issues for years advice from me would be to get a ct scan to find out if you have diverticulitis - that's what must have caused

What I wish I had known (and what I have learnt through trial and error!)
You don’t have to let
asthma
control your life - you may have
severe
asthma
and feel like your life is on hold, or you may be going through a period with really poor control, but remember there is almost always a treatment that will help (biologicals/bronchothermoplasty etc).

Extending Lockdown for those with severe asthma
I am hearing rumours people with severe astham are receiving letters to self-isolate until end of August. Anyone is this group receiving the letter stating to further isolate?

Asthma does not seem to increase the severity of COVID-19
Asthma does not appear to increase the risk for a person contracting COVID-19 or influence its severity, according to a team of Rutgers researchers. "Older age and conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes and obesity are reported risk factors

Itchy chin when coughing?
I’m currently being investigated for Asthma and have been put on Salbutamol which seems to help relieve symptoms. I’m not sure if this is related (but I’d heard through the grape vine) that an itchy chin when coughing can be linked to asthma? It’s the weirdest sensation... All very new to this!

High TSH
Wonder if anybody has had the same experience as me - I was recently admitted to hospital for a
severe
asthma
attack and when they done a blood test they said my TSH was high and to get another blood test when I was discharged to get it double checked and perhaps make a appointment with the consultant

I think my new antidepressant is making my asthma worse
I started taking escitalopram 5mg last Saturday to help treat anxiety. It has worked remarkably well so far. But I’ve noticed my chest becoming progressively worse this week, with my peak flow being at 375/350 and I can’t get it to budge. Normally it’s 400/410. I read that serotonin can cause bronchoconstriction

Asthma after Covid
Interested to know if anyone is in my position.... I think I may have had Covid in March despite only having had the one typical symptom (a high temperature but not 37.8c high) I did have a mucus cough and tight chest but not the dry cough. Saw the GP and it was treated as an asthma attack and was given
