Asthma inhaler side effects

My asthma is well controlled and I take one puff of fostair 100/6 (I’ve had asthma for about a year now.) I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with negative side effects from their inhaler? I think I have some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism (weight gain, tiredness, slightly low heart rate). Could this be caused by my inhaler or completely unrelated?

Hi

It’s unlikely to be the inhaler. Most people find that if anything people find that Fostair gives tachycardia, so a faster HR, than Brachycardia, a slow HR. When you can, contact your GP you can ask for a blood test for hypothyroidism if you are concerned, but personally I suspect it’s an unrelated issue to your inhaler.

That’s helpful, thank you. I’m always nervous about the effects my inhaler could be having, but I know it helps control my asthma at the same time

I've been on Fostair a few years and I don't suffer those symptoms. x

When I changed to Fostairnexthaler I started to get bruising on my arms and legs though it could be because of the years of steroid inhalers previously. My asthma/bronchiectasis is much more controlled now so I have been a lot better health wise however everyone is different x
