I am under a Consultant in Barts . My consultant thinks my chest pain is due to my small arteries being blocked. On Monday I went to have my angiogram with contrast at Barts.
I was gowned up being wheeled to theatre . A nurse came running up to another nurse and said that my procedure had been delayed . I was promptly wheeled back to my cubicle . Half an hour later my Consultant and his Registrar came to see me
, My consultant said that he could not do the procedure because of my severe asthma as it would be very dangerous . He already knew about my asthma . And I discussed my asthma with him months beforehand . And I discussed it with the nurses in my pre assessment and the Barts pharmacist ! And this is the second time at Barts that a procedure regarding Contrast was cancelled due to my asthma which he had arranged me to have !
My Consultant said he wanted to use a Water procedure instead of using Contrast . He said the procedure was experimental . And two minutes later he said that it was not experimental !
Has anyone had the procedure ? Or know about it ? I’m wondering if it’s safe ,
Please let me know . He wants me to have it in two weeks .
