Question about stopping Levo
Hi I am new my name is Lena I was diagnosed hypothyroid in 2012, my GP thinks it would be a good idea for me to stop Levo since I have symptoms of sweating and insomnia but I still have symptoms of sluggish bowels, tiredness, dry skin, hair loss. Adding T3 to T4, week 1: progress report
Hi - I have Hashis. Following advice from a thyroid-sympathetic endo, I have, for the last week, been adding 6.25mcg T3, 3 x daily on top of my 100mcg levo. I've also been eating GF and for the last couple of days, DF as well. And taking various vitamin and mineral supplements as if my life depended

Could My B12 Be An Issue?
Just had latest results from Medichecks. Previous results in brackets at the end of the line. Most of these were Sept 17, one or two were July 17. Any ideas what could be happening with my B12 as I feel tired, have pins & needles in feet and hands, balance problems and vertigo? I asked Dr to test for

Need help
In March of 2017, I took a bladderwrack/seamoss supplement for 1 week that agitated my thyroid. After going to see endo learned that my preexisting thyroid nodual had increased in size to 1.2 cm. Subsequently after multi tests and biopsy I learned that I had papillary thyroid cancer. On October 30

Pharmacist's interview
On collecting my prescription for Azithromycin yesterday from Boots, I was asked if I had time for a quick word with the pharmacist. Turns out it's because of the above antibiotic and possible resistance. I explained that it was prescribed by my Consultant year-round and I have proved I need it because

Feeling worse during loading shots, is this normal?
I'm new here and this is my first question/post and this may be answered elsewhere (though I've been looking) so my apologies if it is a repeat and also for the length. I been having all major symptoms of B12 deficiency, including neurological and vision. My PCP sent me to Opthamologist, who referred

Canine toe nail Selenium? U-shaped PCa risk.
New study below [1]. Odd that the dog (man's best friend) is the only other species (I believe) that naturally develops PCa. Stop giving them table scraps! LOL "Our discovery of a U-shaped dose-response between toenail selenium concentration and prostatic DNA damage in dogs remarkably parallels data

This gut/brain axis paper offers food therapies
Section 5.1. discusses food intervention. It’s a long paper and while much of it is above my pay grade, I thought it a good paper and more heavily referenced than any other I’ve read. It doesn’t talk about lectins, but Dr. Grundy does. http://gundrymd.com/reduce-lectins-diet/ I’ve read his book, The

Think I might be infertile
Hi there, Me and my partner have been TTC for 6 months. I know it's not that long in the scheme of things. However I have this horrible gut feeling there's something wrong and I'll need intervention. I have heavy periods with clots and they can be very painful. However they're very regular, every 26

In the dark
Hello I'm still quite new here. I was prescribed Levothyroxine since October 2016 starting from 25mcg and increasing up to 75mcg. Last summer I managed to get NDT, Low dose naltrexone and T3 to experiment with feeling better. I had to get better than I was, as sleeping in the afternoon was no longer

T3 now?
I joined this forum about 3 months ago and, on the helpful advice given, started taking selenium then. Following further blood tests, I added B12, B vitamins and D3 about a month ago. My blood test results before starting the supplements (on 75mcg thyroxine daily) were: TSH 0.88 (0.35 - 5.00) Free T4

NDT should I increase dose or wait?
Hi Happy New Year to all and thank you to everyone on this site who have given their time selflessly to help people, like me, who are struggling to understand their condition. I am now on NDT and feel a lot better than a year ago. I've now managed to increase my Naturethroid to 2 grains taken x3 through

Confused by Medichecks reverse T3 ratio calculation
As the NHS will not do the rT3 test and my endo suggested it should be done, I have these recent Medichecks results. The reverse T3 value alone is low, which is good I think as I have been supplementing with iron, selenium and supporting my liver & adrenals for over a year now. However I am confused

For those who take NDT - what dose are you taking?
Good evening on New Year's Eve :-) I haven't posted here for a while, but thought I'd pop in and say hello and also to say a very big thank you to those who run the forum for their time and effort. I just thought I'd leave this (multi part!) question here. I'm just wondering for those who are taking
