Hi

So, in relation to my tsh...

September 2017 tsh was 9.2

November 2017 tsh was 8.9

5th January 2018 tsh was 4.5

8th January 2018 tsh was 6.6 (medichecks)

I am wondering how tsh has jumped over a weekend?!

I am supplementing selenium and will begin supplementing vitamin d.

Thanks in advance!

Were all those tests done at the same time of day, and fasting?

Is the TSH range the same for the 5th and 8th January tests?

Also, you have high antibodies so you are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's, results can fluctuate with antibody activity.

Yes same test ranges . I went to gp prior to receiving the 8th results and was told they would not increase my levothyroxine, currently on 75.

Was the TSH of 4.5 in range? It's very high so you should have had an increase.

Difference in TSH could be antibody activity or possibly you had an infection which could raise it. CRP is an inflammation marker and as yours is over range it's telling you there is inflammation somewhere or infection.

My GPs work on over 6 is high so wouldn't increase my levothyroxine at 4.5. It just confused me that literally Friday my tsh was 4.5 and Monday it was 6.6. Thanks for the information on crp - I will go back to my gp regarding this x

Your GP is wrong. I would take a copy of the Dr Toft Pulse article stating that TSH needs to be under 1 and free T4 in top quarter of range to your next appointment.

why would your doctor work on a range of over 6 as high when the lab range is 4.20? making up his own guidelines?

I know ! I even stated that with Hashimotos i feel it should even be lower still but no luck it's crazy x

Does anyone have any experience with the crp markers? X

Not really, but they mean inflammation. Some alternative health sources say that over 3 is bad and opens the way for more serious problems.
