Epilepsy medication increasing risk of dementia
They have been controlled by 1000mg levetiracetam a day initially & neurologist said I could stop if I wanted after being
seizure
free for 2 years. Instead I tried reducing the dose to 500mg a day & after a while I had a
seizure
so went back up to 750mg & have been ok with this.

swallowing problems
I noticed months ago that I was having problems swallowing my pills then after a long severe
seizure
in May I started having issues with food getting stuck in my throat and then liquids would cause a lot of coughing. It has gotten so bad that they have placed a feeding tube.

Challenging the TSH Mantra - what to do next? (long post)
I mentioned that I was very well aware of being in a thyrotoxicotic state having previously been overmedicated on Eltroxin resulting in weight loss, palpitations, heart murmur and
seizure
but that I currently had no such symptoms and felt well.

Daughter with learning difficulties
To cut a long story short at 10 year old she suffered a
seizure
which she never had had before except for petit mals which my mum had noticed. At the time of the
seizure
she’d had a temperature. After tests she was put on medication.

Diagnostic tests after tonic clonic seizures - what to expect?
I had my first tonic clonic
seizure
in July 2021 during a time of huge stress (working 80 hour weeks, just moved house, young daughter). It scared my husband to death and he called an ambulance, but they monitored me for a few hours and sent me home without a referral.

Recovery after a Dissociative seizure
Hi guys My husband took a dissociative
seizure
last week and it’s still unable to hold a conversation or read. I’m wondering if this is a “normal” recovery? Last week he couldn’t walk or talk but now he is home and can walk and answer questions with one word. He seems confused at times too.

Some Memory Returning?
Talking of more strenuous activities it seems there are emergency
seizure
medications in the form of oral and/or anal syringe 'injections' which can stop seizures until the emergency services arrive. These can be administered by a trained companion and seem pretty straightforward.

Apple watch apps
Hello there, I am trying to find an epilepsy
seizure
app for mine and my sons apple watch, so I can be alerted if he isn’t with me and has a
seizure
(as this happened last night). He was at his friends and had two seizures. I have looked at a few, but one of them was £14.99 a month!

Explaining how parent has epilepsy
He’s been on medication and free from
seizure
until yesterday when he collapsed in front of our 5 year old. My little boy was traumatised. Anyone any advice? Also, we are currently on holiday in Mexico and decided not to go to the hospital after it happened as my partner seemed ok just tired.
