Emerging concepts on bradykinesia in non‐parkinsonian conditions
Bradykinesia is one of the cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. However, clinical and experimental studies indicate that bradykinesia may also be observed in various neurological diseases not primarily characterized by parkinsonism. Total shock re operation
Hi everyone, I’ve just been asked to attend a pre op appt for 26th April . My last op was cancelled just as lockdown started. The op is for muscle reattachment of my hip, I’ve had nothing but trouble with a metal on metal which was first done 1999, it was fine for 6 years and from then on I’ve had

General anaesthetic recovery period
I have a problem in that I have to have a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic the day after tomorrow and it had been arranged that my daughter would stay with me for 24 hours as advised by hospital. She now finds that she can't do this - for reasons I don't fully understand - and that she would stay

Possible Polychondritis and RA
Hello, I’m having investigations into what is going on with me, they think it’s possibly RA and want to start me on hydroxychloroquine. My bloods only showed a positive for ANA. Other than aching swollen joints, lumps and tingling, my other biggest symptom is the cartilage in my nose is slowly deteriorating

Cyst Aspiration - has anyone had?
I’ve 12 days into down regulation, I had my baseline yesterday and I have a large cyst on my left ovary :( - I was so ready to start stims yesterday but it is what it is and I want the best outcome this cycle as it’s my 3rd! I have another scan on Monday and I am praying it has gone itself but if it

Apnea due to opioid use?
I read that one of the causes of central sleep apnea is opioid use. That puts the person at risk for stroke or heart issues. There apparently is no treatment for refractory RLS that doesn't have serious side effects. My question is this: Has anyone with RLS developed apnea as a probable result of opioids

Next steps after Clomid?
I wanted to see if anyone had advice / been through a similar treatment pathway. Background: 32 y/o and been trying for two years (on pill / implant before then). No luck after one year so went through standard GP testing as my cycles had been long and irregular after the implant, but tests / scans

What's your experience with gabapentin side effects going away?
I have read that gabapentin side effects can go away after one or two weeks. I was taking 600 mg of gabapentin while coming off ropinirole which I am now off of. It helped me sleep at night but did not stop my restless legs, nor the pain I had in my legs during the day. So experimenting, I tried 900

Magnesium stearate
Is it best to avoid magnesium stearate if you have Hashimotos? I need to buy more vitamins once my blood test comes back and will avoid MS if necessary. I do however have plenty of vitamins in my cabinet that contain it and I’m tempted to take them.

Poor sleep hygiene
Before the age of 20 when I started making sense of RLS I think I learned to violate every rule or guideline they suggest for a good nights sleep. I was too young and clueless to know these bad habits and coping mechanisms would become hard wired and difficult to overcome. I remember trying to be distracted

Lyrica restart?
Lyrica worked fabulously for my PLMD even at 50mg. Unfortunately I increased the dose to 300mg. over time to deal with insomnia, which caused daytime sedation and depression. I am now slowly reducing the Lyrica, hoping maybe the lower dose will work for my PLMD and not cause those side effects. As

Dopamine agonists and their aftermath - A Survey
Hello All I have been off dopamine agonists for more than two years now, thanks to methadone and buprenorphine. Both were - and are - a blessing (insofar as any drugs could be called such), as many of you will know. But I would like to know how many of us feel, even long after quitting dopamine agonists

Neurologist
I had been to the hospital to a neurologist. I was given ropinirole after gabapentin stopped working for me. I read that rls is caused by lack of dopamine in the brain.

Anaesthetics and Pred
Consultant was unable to complete a hysteroscopy this morning as he and I agreed it was causing too much pain. I'm now to have it done under general anaesthetic and wonder about taking pred. on that day. I've read back over some posts but am not clear whether one takes one's own medication into hospital

Plan B...donor eggs 😢
So it looks like Donor Eggs are our only option. Our 4th cycle went so well initially (16 eggs, 13 mature and 9 embryos) and we were so hopeful. IVF is so cruel. All but 4 embryos stopped growing by day 5. But we still had hope! Then 3 of our blastocysts stopped growing at day 6 before they reached

RLS and Azelastine HCL nose spray
Suddenly I started getting RLS, even on low dose Methadone. I am thinking it is the Azelastine as it is an antihistamine, but I cannot find any literature on it. The only other thing that changed was a slight reduction in Lithium. I don't have any discontinuation symptoms, so I don't think it is that

1:10 chance of Downs Syndrome
Edit: I just wanted to update with my nipt results, they have come back as low risk for Downs Syndrome. It's such a relief to finally have the results as the waiting was very stressful! Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond, reassure me and share experiences, I really appreciate it! Hi,

When does the worry end?!
Edit: Hi all, I've had my results from the nipt test and they came back as low risk for Downs Syndrome. The waiting for the results was the worst part! Still feeling a little nervous for my 20 week scan but hopefully I can get back to enjoying my pregnancy now. Thank you so much to everyone who responded

Does anyone take Celebrex ?
Hi Everyone , Does anybody else take Celebrex? I am on hydroxychloroquine Azathiropine, to mention just a few for the Lupus and Sjogren's. I now have Osteoarthritis in most joints and my consultant has prescribed CELEBREX. I am wary of taking more meds but I am really struggling with my joints stiffness
