I’ve 12 days into down regulation, I had my baseline yesterday and I have a large cyst on my left ovary - I was so ready to start stims yesterday but it is what it is and I want the best outcome this cycle as it’s my 3rd! I have another scan on Monday and I am praying it has gone itself but if it hasn’t I have to have cyst aspiration... has anyone had this? Is it ok?? How quickly afterwards did you start stims? I’m so worried my cycle is going to be cancelled

Hi Amy1122,
I had a very similar experience to you during my current ivf cycle, I had a cyst on my left ovary measuring 2.5mm in which they said they don’t like them over 2mm so advised me to take tablets to have a small bleed while still taking my down regulation meds, straight after a small bleed I was scanned and the cyst had gone and I was allowed to start my stimulation meds the next day!
Hope this might help you but I know everyone’s experience is different 🙂
Hi lovely, I totally understand the annoyance! I’ve always had cysts and had one at my baseline too! I had to take my trigger injection and come back a week later that hadn’t worked so went for a cyst aspiration and 4 days later at the scan it had refilled! At this point they just took my bloods as said as long as it wasn’t producing hormones I could start stims as it would be non functioning! Thankfully it wasn’t and I started stims that week, all in all it put me back 2 weeks. I then went on to have EC, freeze all had 5 frozen blastocysts and have just had my first successful frozen transfer 🥰
I know it’s unsettling at the time and any delay feels like forever but its all to make sure you get the best response from stims. If the cyst was producing hormone it could interfere with the response to stims they told me! Fingers crossed the aspiration gets rid and you can carry on!
Procedure itself was fine exactly the same
(Just quicker) as EC! Good luck x
