The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
Good: Travelled to Humberside to see my great-grandson (Jaxon) in person (3 weeks old now). Went back to hotel just before the main snow arrived and cut off the village. Bad: Roads all blocked on Wednesday so confined to hotel room (Aah!! Stir crazy!!). Slipped in bath (support rails in Accessible Room

Lip biopsy
Has anyone had a lip biopsy to do with saliva glands etc? I was diagnosed for certain with fibromialgia but Rheumy also thinks I may have an autoimmune problem too due to my dry mouth.

Travel help (taking meds to US)
Hi, I’ve ducked in looking for advice regarding taking some medication to Florida (changing in Texas en route). My 10 yo has fairly severe CF, and as there’s no community on here just for that, I figured you lovely people on the BLF might be the best people to ask. Although I used to be a seasoned traveller

The jurys still out in diagnosis of PMR
Hi all I saw Dr Khan at WHH Ashford, private wing on 14 Feb. He was on the fence over whether I have PMR or my OA and Stenosis of lumbar spine causes my pain in back and pelvis. After taking letter from Dr Campbell, I saw privately on 30 Jan. who gave me 7 days trial on 15 mg Pred. and said if it made

Uterine lining.
Hi ladies today I had my day 9 scan to check the lining thickness, I have been taking progynova, folic acid and vitamin E. The lining measured 11mm!! So full steam ahead for our FET on 27th - I'm so shocked after so much heartache maybe we're actually getting somewhere xx

Cytoplan - 100% Gluten free Vitamin supplements including ingredients derived from gluten
Hey guys Just in case someone has been struggling like me to find supplements that are 100% gluten free (as in no gluten derived ingredients) as very sensitive like myself to things such as maltodextrin. I tried cytoplan and haven't reacted at all to any of theirs and they have very few fillers or extras

IVF ICSI with PGD update - still in the game!
So our Valentine’s Day treat was a phone call from the embryologist to tell us that, of our four frozen embies, we have a “normal” one (it may have normal chromosomes or it may have a balanced translocation like my hubbie- both count as normal). Huge sigh of relief that we *should* have something to

Exercise rescues SCA1 mice.
So I came across this study years ago and forgot about it. Long before I got to where I am today in terms of a complex regimen I was already exercising regularly because I had read this report. Today I happened across this information once again so I thought I would share the info. Putting this together

Episode?
I am one of the lucky ones, my Afib episodes have been minor compared to most. I have recently come off Nebivolol and been given Flecainide as a PIP. Last night the minute I lay down in bed my heart started a rumba which lasted most of the night. However, my hr was 79 at the highest. Am I likely to

Genetic Testing (Embryo Screening)
Hi Lovelies, This is my first time posting :) Been in the group for some time and amazed of the support this group has for each other. I'm on my second cycle of private IVF, the first one we managed to have 2 embies in the freezer. The dr decided not to transfer the first cycle due to my thin lining

Personal battle turning into a War!
No not the GCA today! It's me & Mr Squirrel!! Clever cute little sod he is. Driving me demented! Tip toes along washing line, hangs upside by tail & sucks out the sunflower hearts. Ahh! He can't chew the metal to bits like last years plastic but believe me he is a member of the hairy MENSA!

Tramadol and/or Horizant
I have seen several discussions/comments about tramadol HCL, but can not find them. I would appreciate any good, bat, otherwise on this Rx. My RLS Dr. is suggesting it as a less addictive Rx to help with sleep at night, as one of several options to try, since I have withdrawn from Augmentation from pramipexole

High lactic acid ?
Hi all😊 Well I've landed in the hospital again ... Was here just 2 weeks ago with the same thing... lactic acidosis. Anyone else bothered by this? I'm feeling it may. Be a side effect of the 20 mg.s of prednisone that I've been taking daily since July 2017. This time my throat closed up and that was

Stitches after laparoscopy
Hi All, I had a laparoscopy 2 weeks ago, they said the stitches would dissolve on their own but they are still there. They look like nylon threads. When I went to the surgery the nurse only trimmed them and said they would fall off. I just don’t see any changes and they look quite strong to me. Any ideas

Anti-depressants
Hi all, was just wondering if anyone was on any anti depressants before starting ivf? I have been started on paroxetine for ptsd and anxiety but not sure if I'll be allowed to start ivf as they can cause heart defects. I'm waiting on my letter of a start date. Thank you

Touching base....
Hey friends! I haven't posted in quite some time. Last fall I had an Anterior Cervical Fusion surgery and in December I had a Total Knee Replacement Surgery. I've healed well from both, but have ended up with a constant ringing in my ears and have been pretty down about it. My RA is still fairly
