Restless Leg Medication

Can Mirapex and Requip for restless leg be taken together. Example: Mirapex .05 in the morning and Requip 1 at nite ??

Hi Mmayo, why do you have both meds and why would you do that? Mirapex (pramipexole) and Requip (ropinirole) are the same class of meds: dopamine agonists. Mirapex is much stronger, that is why the standard dose is lower.

Why do you take it in the morning? Usually, rls symptoms occur in the evening and at night. If you have them during the day, you should be attentive of augmentation

No one should be taking two dopamine meds, there is no reason. You take one or the other and adjust the dose. Like Lotte has said you could be augmenting on them, if you are taking two. The dose of Requip 1mg is the highest dose recommended to take and so taking the Mirapex aswell, you are taking much more than you should.
