Should an ultrasound be painful?
I'm really paranoid about my kidneys because have twice gone in to

with no explanation, yet the Drs do not routinely check them or anything. Does anyone know why my kidneys might have hurt, or have had a similar experience?

Does anyone here have kidney problems, I'm nervous about tomorrow's results...
I got seen quickly (having been in
renal
failure
twice before), but the Dr looked at me like I was a crazy person. He was fairly dismissive and repeated the test results, but when I handed him the latest sample he looked shocked, and said it couldn't be normal.

Anyone got dysplastic kidneys with Alagille Syndrome?
Hi, My daughter has Alagille syndrome and we've been told her major problem is with her Kidneys. While they are working well now (she's nearly 2 years of age) they predict that she will go into kidney failure in her teens and need a transplant. Can they really tell that at this stage. Anyone in a

NHS HEALTH CHECK HAVE YOU HAD ONE?
Adults aged between 40 and 74 in England invited for this health check. Local Authorities in charge of it seems it's a public health programme aimed at preventing and identifying individuals at high risk of developing or having heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes and certain types

I have 3weeks to decide about dialysis. I am end stage renal failure 15%. I don't keep well and have been advised to start HD.
I need time time to get my head round this. Is it best to start when I have some kidney function or hang on to the last minute? I don't know what to do for the best. I had my fistula made a year ago so its ready to go! I'll be 66 years old in a couple of months and I badly need advice. Many thanks.

What effect does the taking of neoral have on kidney function.
I had a liver transplant nearly one year ago. Since then my dose of neoral has been reduced steadily from 250 mgm twice per day to around 75-100 mg. This indicates how well my new liver is working. However my kidney function is slightly diminished and I wonder if anyone out there can give me information

What is Cardiac arrest ? Found this explanation in the copy of today's mail health section.
Medical terms decoded. This week: Cardiac arrest Very simply, a cardiac arrest is when the heart stops pumping. It is often confused with a heart attack (myocardial infarction - where heart tissue dies because it isn't getting enough blood) - this can lead to cardiac arrest, but not always. Cardiac

Will muscle & joint pain disappear, and to what degree will I feel better after I quit taking Crestor after six years of 10 mg. daily?
My muscle and join pain has gotten progressively worse over the last 6 or 7 years (about the time I began taking Crestor). I also suffer from moderate to severe osteoarthritis. I never thought the reason for my pain was taking a statin, and I also believed the pain would go away in time. In 2008, I was
