Hi everyone, We are newly home from a liver and kidney transplant and have a large number of dialysis supplies that we no longer need. We had just ended our first week of home dialysis when we got the call for the transplant. The supplies are new and in unopened shipping boxes. I hate to see this go to waste in the landfill as the dialysis center just throws it all in the dumpster and we get no credit. Message me if you're interested.

Try asking the hospital if they'll take them, I've only been on it about 7 weeks now but have had stuff from the hospital so it's worth trying them
The supplies have been paid for by your insurance. They are considered a "prescription", so no legally they cannot be returned and given away. No different than getting a bottle of meds from pharmacy then reacting to them and having to stop. You can't return them to the pharmacy and get your money back. That being said it's possible to barter or donate syringes, gauze, tape, alcohol pads, saline or other ancillary supplies to veterinarians. They usually are happy to accept them as donations. If you have bags of lactate dialysate they are great in flower and vegetable beds. Your neighbors may be delighted to use them.
Best of luck and CONGRATULATIONS on the transplants.
Blessings
Correction. In our case the insurance company definately has not paid for these supplies but that will be another drawn out tale. Oh well. Thanks anyway.
May use the dialysate advice since it's the only thing we have that is actually close to a prescription. The first aid materials and stuff like face masks, we will keep, because of living with a lowered immune system.
For anyone who needs saline, or needles, gauze, sterile pads, cartridges and more for a nxstage machine, let me know. I'd rather give them to a dialysis patient who needs help.
Thanks for the well wishes!!
Well once the supplies are received by the patient (delivered and in use too/by patient) they legally can't be returned for use. I returned some supplies once via my supplier but they were required per regulation to dump all fluids, dialyzers etc.
I made up many first aid kits bartered with local vets and in gardens. I've known others who have donate to other dialyzors but don't advertise for protection. Best of luck. Blessings
