Life Insurance
I am 40 years old and have a stent, which was fitted in 2015. I am now fit, healthy and had no issues since . Due to having a mortgage I have always had life insurance, unfortunately I have always done it for 10 year terms. My current insurance is coming to an end so looking to renew. A simple comparison

Return to work worries.
Hi everyone. I am due to start back to work next month after being off for a year. I had H/A at work last march. After being admitted to A and E in July with angina pain was sent for a stent. I still get breathless but am a lot better now the clopidogrel has been stopped. IT has suggested a phased return

Running Fitness post angiogram
Hello. Two weeks ago I was half way through a marathon training schedule, as I have been for the last 12 years during Feb/March. However, I had to have an angiogram last week because of intermittent chest pain and “potential” stenosis revealed on a CT scan. No stent was needed as the flow was 97%. For

Angina pain
I'm four months post stent insertion for a 95% blockage in my LAD. My symptoms before surgery were a burning pain lower neck on initially starting walking fast (and would then go away) and only two episodes of intense pain. I'm 46. I still have this pain on walking and have had one episode of what

Change in Taste
Hi all Had a heart attack earlier this year and a stent was fitted. Has anyone experienced a change in their sense of taste? I get a sweet and metalic taste and its difficult to eat anything I eat doesnt taste very pleasant. I assume it is related to the medications I have been taking?

60% to 80% stenosis in mid and distal LAD
Hi everyone, Started the year off in and out of AE with high/low irregular heart beat and AF. Seen Cardiogist, had echocardiogram ( normal ) and CT coronary angiogram. Cardiologist happy that change of drugs will stop AF but now it has highlighted this blockage problem. I am not breathless, even after

Husband ignoring advice
My husband found out he needs a stent 3 weeks ago, he is due to have surgery at the end of March. He already has type 2 diabetes and gout both diagnosed 5 years ago, and is obese. He typically wants medication to manage his conditions and refuses to change his lifestyle of unhealthy eating and drinking

Worried re drink
For the first time in about two years I got drunk last night and now I’m worried I’ve damaged my heart? Has anyone else had one too many after a night out when they have a stent

Sudden dull ache.
Hi, I had a heart attack and a stent fitted almost 6 months ago. I had my heart clinic follow up in October and have a follow up consult with the cardiac surgery team in a week or so. I also have a Drs. telephone consult next week. The only lingering thing i have had since my stent had been shortness

any advice gratefully received
Waiting time for a stent . i had an angiogram 2 weeks ago after exhausting all other tests to find out why i have a mumur and LBBB. The result which they told me at the time was 80% blockage in LAD . I have just had a call from cardiolgist to say that after discussing my case a stent would be advisable

Heart friendly multivitamins
Hi all, so I’d normally take a daily multivitamin. Hadn’t given any thought into whether I should or not since the Angiogram and stent. Transpires as I’m on antiplatelet medication, I shouldn’t be taking Iron or Vitamin K (contraindications). This advice came from a Pharmacist. Instead I’ve bought these

Bp advice
Hi all, I am a little concerned about my BP. It's slowly getting higher, today's reading was 157/79. I am also hearing my heart beating in my right ear all the time which is a little unsettling. I have contacted my GP, currently only can do so via an online request form which can take up to 48 hours

Unsteady on feet and getting pressure headaches-do you think it is Bisoprolol?
HI, I had a stent fitted the beginning of December and was put on Ramipril, Bisoprolol, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel & Aspirin (and Lansoprazole for reflux). In the last 3 weeks or so I have started to feel unsteady on my feet. This tends to go away if I walk for a few minutes,

Massive setback…😡😢😡😢😡😢
Just got word from the transplant team that they now consider me too high a risk for a double lung transplant. As some of you may remember the assessment work up flagged up a calcification build up in a heart vessel ( LAD) which needed sorting. I subsequently went to the Harefield for angioplasty and

BLOOD Pressure concern
My BP has been very low 99/61 pulse 51, following da 116/62 pulse 49. I am taking Rosuvastatin 40mg. I take this at 5 pm. Prior to my heart attack I never had any issue with BP as I was always on the lower side. I have read that it may be to high a dose, and also that taking this medication with food

Sleepless night.
Sleepless night. Hi everyone had 3 HA last year and one stent fitted in September. My Angina is under control but my LV hasnt improved with my meds. My Cardiologist has suggested a defibrillator be fitted so I am now waiting to hear from that Consultant. However last night was awful regarding my breathing
