Feel a bit of fraud?

Hi all after reading some of the posts on here thinking I have it good! My doctor is good sympathetic and willing to see me. My consultants are available and any waits are less than 2 months dependent if more urgent then quicker than that!

Anyways I have been diagnosed with asthma Crohn’s and heart disease and being treated for all and this is where I feel a bit of a fraud. Apart from a complete lack of stamina get breathless quickly my symptoms seem are on I guess the mild side.

I get chest pain ?? angina?????? but it’s more uncomfortable than a pain probably a 4 out of 10 this does come on very randomly sometimes when asleep sometimes sitting sometimes after exercise sometimes nothing for 3days then it just pops up! When it comes I usually sit down for 15 minutes and it goes if it’s a bit stronger or I want it gone quickly then a cpl spray’s gtn work. Have had a stent in my minor odm ? Artery in February surgeon said it wouldn’t hurt when he did it as it’s only minor but it did lol. When I told him he said that that told him that my heart thinks it’s more important than he did lol At the moment I do have cardiology confused as a myocardial scan has thrown up some strange results! Says my LAD has 25 % blocked yet when I had stent and angiogram it was clear? So the plot thickens

Sry for the long post but it’s complicated lol

Morning Ancientone, not that’s 65’s actually ancient in my opinion! I’m afraid I can’t answer your question. Forum members aren’t able to give medical advice but someone may be along who can give you some ideas about next steps. All I can suggest is to keep a daily diary about your symptoms and what you were doing/eating/drinking before/as they came on and use it as a tool to objectively discuss your condition with your specialists. It takes commitment but can throw up patterns/triggers.

All the best to you and your loved ones.

Yep that’s about what I think when I read how some are really struggling but mine is “uncomfortable “ annoying and restrictive but relatively minor, I know am not in the best of health lol! And have a blue badge and full mobility allowance ,but reading some of the other posts I think that I am one of the lucky ones! Hence the bit of a fraud 🙂

While I plan to continue restricting myself re posting, I usually do think 'every little helps' even if only a virtual ((HUG)). Too, I've picked up no end of great tips from others here.

In the end we all have something valuable to contribute one way or another:) Please keep us posted on how further investigation goes regarding your current situation - angio is never fun but given the scan result showing the blockage it will be helpful for you to chase up with your medics.

As some one who appears to have had it bad - I say talk away.

People come here for help, advice, reassurance and information - and that covers all areas of heart conditions. What I’ve endured is really of no use to most people on here, so I restrict my input to those where I have something I feel I can help with.

But many come on here who are able to live with a managed heart failure without necessarily needing OHS, and they need contributors also.

Please do not be afraid to have an input, I think many are reassured by the replies to a post that covers areas the same or similar to theirs.

You’d only be a fraud if you claimed to suffer with heart failure but actually didn’t…

Thx for that 🙂
