Flying after elective PCI with stent (100% blockage)
Had PCI with stent - uncomplicated elective, March 18. The consultant / surgeon in the lab advised flight OK after 2 days (even long haul), but all the rest of the staff in the lab and ward, and readily available leaflets insisted on 28 days. Quite a commotion ensued !! I needed to fly sooner for work-related

Hi 24 months ago, at the age of 51, I received a mid LAD stent for unstable angina. My only symptom was breathlessness and I was fine again after a couple of weeks. I have recently had an excercise stress test on which I achieved 21 minutes and a max bp of 155 / 85. I'm hoping that after 2 years my

Sleepless nights
Hi, Im 6 weeks in since having my stent fitted. Alls good except for constantly waking up in the early hours and having to go to the toilet. This has only happened since going on the medications. Has any body had the same problems, only this makes me feel shattered for most of the day..

How can I make my GFR go up?
Hello! I’m 32 and I had my FIRST kidney stone, which just so happen to be a 5.5mm size, so I had to have surgery to remove it and also got a stent placed for 2 weeks. After I got it out, I felt back to normal. After 3 months, I went back to my urologist and they did an ultrasound and found scarring on

Pain from Stent and Inoperable cancer of the Oesophagus
My brother was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in August last year at 27 years old. The cancer had spread to his liver so the doctor advised it wouldn’t be possible to operate. He had Chemo and was then scanned, the scan showed the tumour ‘less bulky’ in his oesophagus and they couldn’t see it on his

Waiting game
I had an angiogram last week in March and was referred for a stent, 75%-95% blocked LAD. Have heard nothing so far so I just rang the hospital and they said my consultant didn't have a very long waiting list at the moment and I should be seen by the end of May or beginning of June. What's everyone's

Dressler’s Syndrome
Hi, the second time I was admitted to hospital following the heart attack and stent I was told I had Dressler’s Syndrome, anyone else had this? On a lighter note how on earth do people find the time and energy to train and run massive distances, I’m still so exhausted nine weeks on, I really cannot even

Finally home after second angiogram
Well my second angiogram went as I expected and with the outcome I've believed since the first one. That they wouldn't find anything new to pin my ongoing chest pain on...Although once again I've had probably one of my worst attacks ever today.Starting this morning and continuing throughout my stay in

Hi everyone, this is my first post but I have been reading so many helpful and informative ones from everyone and thought I should at least commit to one! I am 2 weeks post stent tomorrow and adjusting very reluctantly to what seems like a new way to live. Not sure about so many things but I guess it
