Had stemi. Cardiac arrest and stent fitted 3 months ago. Was in continuous AFib till cardio version. Bisoprolol was for AFib but also to help damaged heart muscle heal post heart attack ( best dose for that is 10mg). So trying not to decrease it. If I stay in sinus rhythm will my pulse improve?

As long as you are required to take the BB your heart rate will stay at those rates. Many of us have rates of 40 to 45 without BB and it's no problem at all.Your heart needs to recover and the BB helps it do that by decreasing its rate and force.

Hi Ewloe I’m on 3.75 Bisoprolol and pulse 50/55 but without Bisoprolol around 70. Blood pressure also lowered. As Palpman says lowering your heart rate is protecting your heart by making it easier to work. Downside is heart rate is difficult to get above 90/100 so fine for most people other than athletes or people who want to be super fit! Glad to hear you’re OK after a nasty experience. 😊
