Whole Brain Radiotherapy Treatment
UPDATE! I'm revisiting this post for motivation. The last couple of months have been a challenge to say the least but the last couple of weeks, well, lets just say Ive had to dig deep. As per MyMiracle's WBRT journey, Im now at the 'cant get upstairs stage', muscle weakness and mobility are at rock bottom

Should I be freaking out???!!
Following my second biopsy just before Christmas, the preliminary results just after, Gleason 6 (3+3) before, now G7 (3+4), 4 cores all positive at target site, one was 11mm of cancer and finally, the pathologist found 'ductal cancer' and this meant they suggested some form of treatment - either RP or

I am 69 and was diagnosed approximately 4 months ago with locally advanced Ductal Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate, Gleason 8, with seminal vessel involvement. I've been on Eligard for 3 months and had blood tests yesterday but I don't have any results to share yet. I also had a CT SIM yesterday in preparation

Post SABR (SBRT) side effects
My father underwent 5 rounds of SABR alongside a 4-month injection of Lupron. He finished his last radiation treatment on Feb 18th. The last three days he has been experiencing a lot of gas and diarrhea. I messaged the radiation oncologist and he suggested Imodium and the BRAT diet. Anybody have any

Leg cramps during/after ADT.
Perhaps unrelated? I am curious to see if anyone else has this issue. After radiation treatment (no surgery) I was treated with Lupron for 2 years. About halfway through, besides the normal side effects, I developed leg cramps during exercise, even a short walk. Calcium and Magnesium levels are normal

The efficacy and safety of radical prostatectomy and radiotherapy in high-risk prostate cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
For your consideration........recent update...... https://wjso.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12957-020-01824-9 Conclusion here...... RP seems to offer better OS but inferior results for CSS and biochemical recurrence. Brachy boost may perform better in all aspects. I think Tall_Allen has already

You're okay until you're not
You’re okay until you’re not they say regardless of the trend. After a disappointing PSA last week I spoke with my RO and Uro about the results. I have great respect for the Uro and he knows my concerns well as we have discussed my fluctuating PSA many times. He believes the numbers are just incremental

Here we go again!
Had 2 thirds of my right lung removed in June (followed by Chemo &
Radiotherapy
). Latest scan shows that the cancer is back along the "Cut" where the left the top part of my lung. Can't believe its back after only 6 months (and with all the chemo &

What to do??
That said, the options she put to me were more active surveillance,

Running after cancer.
Then in 2019, at 40 years old I was diagnosed with cancer. 5 operations, chemo,
radiotherapy
and being admitted with sepsis (as a complication of lymphedema ) put a stop to it. But now, I'm back! I'm on week 4, and I've only just found this community - I think it's brilliant.

News from Europe: Better, safer, more effective radiotherapy
It will allow improving the efficiency of
radiotherapy
and minimizing its negative effects.
Radiotherapy
is one of the leading treatments for hard tumor cancers. Ionizing radiation used in
radiotherapy
, unfortunately, causes multiple side effects and complications.
