Hi. I’m a 33year old female. I was diagnosed as having Graves just over 2 years ago, I was put onto Carbimazole and Propanolol but my thyroid levels were going up and up, at their worst the FT4 was 62 and the FT3 was 28, so eventually was put on the highest dose of Carbimazole 60mg daily, and 80mg of

Recurrent miscarriage - what tests should I be having to investigate?
Morning all, Since my last miscarriage I have since been offered a battery of tests to investigate this both through the NHS and privately. It is suspected the last miscarriage was with a PGS normal embryo (although it was female tissue so there is a 50:50 chance it was my tissue). I had a MMC then

REVEALED: UK Athletics chiefs' held mystery meeting on controversial use of thyroid medication in 2014
This post is just of general interest and does not have much relevance to our day to day thyroid issues. Sorry to quote this paper but I couldn't readily find another source of the story. [i]

Taking Levo only as I have needed it - 5 months diary.
I have been taking levothyroxine as I have been needing it since about the start of this year. If I had hyper symptoms I lowered my dose. If I was feeling weak I increased my dose. I started keeping a diary of how much Levo I take daily since July this year. This is the result - in circles, starting

Frustrated and confused
Endo appointment yesterday. As usual it's not the same one as last time. Explain your history? Don't they have notes? I think you need to consider RAI or surgery as there is no proof that Carbimazole is safe for long term use although some people have been on it for 15 years !!! My response, I don't

Reducing T3 are these results normal?
I have been taking T3 since the beginning of the year and was doing great but my insulin sensitivity went downhill badly and I realised it coincided with being on T3 (which other people have experienced) . Due to other dietary and health changes I was hopeful I could get my thyroid to function again

Pain relief
Hi all I've posted a few times in the last few weeks. Sorry to bombard. Was diagnosed with endo Monday after 15 years of horrific period pain. Period arrived this morning, an hour later was being driven home from work by a colleague as I couldn't drive with pain. I've been sick 3 x in the last 3 hours

Awfully worried about pain in right side 3 years after Ivor Lewis op
Can anyone help me to not panic. 3.5 years ago Alan had an IL op to remove his oesophagus. All has gone better than we expected although getting shingles 4 months after his op didn’t help! He’s put on 8kg since the op, taking him up to 68kg, which is great. He was moved on to annual checkups and his

Help, need advice
Hi, I've just been diagnosed with fm, which explains a lot over the years, but I've struggled for years with severe pain and tiredness. I've been started on 75mg pregabalin, paracetamol, naproxen and codeine, as yet, I don't feel any benefit. I've been told they can help treat some symptoms, but not

Vaccines, Ibrutinib toxicity,Dr. Rai on a cure, Dr Ghia on TP563 testing and ERIC
I warned that our website's pages would be busy through the end of the year. I tried to synthesize the vaccine guidelines referenced here and elsewhere in this review: https://cllsociety.org/2019/10/vaccines-for-cll-patients/ Dr. Awan wrote for us on the recent news about Ibrutinib's effect on cardiovascular

Medichecks mistake?
I just read the latest Medichecks email message. Normally their articles are quite helpful but I was concerned about something in this one: https://www.medichecks.com/blog/the-thyroid-diet?iitt=VuU9RM4lhMPshF6ZxFY7xF1lxIzD&utm_campaign=Thyroid%20health%20-%20discover%20the%20diet%20changes%20that%20can

Paracetamol/codeine
I bought a couple of packs of paracetamol extra today without realising that the ‘extra’ was codeine. Is it OK to take them with Apixaban?

Iodine patch and hypothyroidism what does this mean??? Does it effect how I feel
I am a bit confused x I did an iodine patch test as advised by nurse as she said it may affect how my levothyroxine is absorbed. The patch has faded after 8 hours What does this mean? Thank you

AF has arrived, ovulation tracking?!
Well just an update, AF arrived today (day 35/36 of cycle) wow, i am in so much pain its horrendous, had to take 2 codeine, was literally screaming in the car trying to drive home! All the pain is in my left side, which tbh I hadn’t noticed before they told me that my left tube is blocked. Can’t wait

Endo bowel surgery and dissection.
Hey, I am new to this. I have been diagnosed with endometrioses now for around 8 years. I have had two previous surgeries, prostap injections in my stomach for 6 month which put me on the menopause to slow the growth down as mines fast growing. Numerous contraception's. So much pain relief but nothing
