5 year old using fingers as "guns" when mad
I received an email from my son's pre-k teacher that he has been using his fingers as "guns" when he gets mad. He is being treated for ADHD by a child psychiatrist, and is taking Ritalin and an SSRI (the Dr. thinks he may have anxiety.) Any recommendations on how to manage this type of behavior? We

Beginning of the End of the Beginning
Most people that have read anything I have posted know about my situation and my struggle with my emotions and my strong feelings for my roommate. Sometime last month during one of the talks that usually end up in fighting she opened up and gave me a date to be moved out by because she needs her space

Therapist Update
I had a visit with my therapist this morning for the 1st time in months. I think it went ok. She gave me some points what to do when I’m feeling anxiety and some tips what to do when I’m feeling depressed. Most of them which I already knew. So even though she is a great person. She is still trying

Asking for Therapist to Provide Progress Report
Has anyone ever asked their child's therapist for a progress report? Our child has been working with one for almost 10 months and I've been getting a lot of push back from the therapist for a write-up. My intent for this report is simply to help advocate for more services and help inform any future clinician

Specialist in Toronto, Canada?
I have seen so many doctors, gynaecologist, neurologist and pelvic floor therapist for my pelvic pain. After 2 years, I still have no diagnosis. Does anyone know anyone in Toronto who could give me a diagnosis so I could get on with appropriate treatment. I've been offered Gabapentin or Cymbalta but

Separation Anxiety with specific people
I've struggled with (self-diagnosed but backed up by numerous therapists) anxiety for about 6 years (I'm 20 now). Around 2 years ago, I made one super close friend, which doesn't often happen, and while I know we had an intense relationship, she was the only thing that calmed down my panic attacks. She

I feel trapped.
I have been in the military for 2 years and some change now and I feel so alone and stuck in a horrible situation. Before I joined, I struggled with depression. But after I joined, it was only emphasized, especially since I have no family or friends around. I have no motivation to do anything for myself

Newly diagnosed, scared, need encouragement
Hi everyone. I was just diagnosed with ADHD, and I'm feeling a lot of things right now. In some ways, it was a relief - something I've known my whole life and was finally validated. But it's also bringing up a lot of feelings. Making me remember all the times I've struggled and felt different and tried

Could use some advice on therapist situation.
I'm the first one to advocate that continued, regular, uninterrupted therapy is necessary when you are at a depression low. With that being said. I have an issue that I could use some help with. I'm on my third therapist in the last six months. I just don't seem to get any help from them. I am planning

I need some advice on a housing situation.
Ok here's the deal. So I am in a group of four girls. A few months back we had a falling out and we did not speak for about 2-3 months. The other three were still in contact and remained close throughout the separation. In that time span, they made the decision to move in together. When we finally began

Amitriptyline with co-drydamol
I’m in a lot of pain at the moment and have just cried my eyes out as I’m feeling so useless. I now also have osteoarthritis in my right hip and knee diagnosed last week, but they also found a meniscus ligament tear in my inner knee. I have been told to double or treble my 10mg dose of Amitriptyline

Anxiety or something else???
Have I been fooling myself. Is it all anxiety? I linger in the background but rarely post. I have suffered with anxiety and panic for years now over 20. I suddenly developed it after developing colitis c difficile from a botched root canal. Thus the anxiety and stomach issues. I always am searching

Classroom discipline (3rd grade)
Hello, wondering if any one has had this issue. My son’s 3rd grade teacher seems to do a lot of “if one person talks in line, the whole class has to go sit down and start over.” My son is ALWAYS the kid who talks in line and blows it for the class. He already has such a difficult time socially. He is

Thankfully,I’m starting therapy soon that will target mainly false memory ocd,has anyone gotten therapy for this form of ocd and if so do therapists provide any form of reassurance or do they teach you how to live with the uncertainty?Did you eventually let the memory go?
