Asking for Therapist to Provide Progress Report

Has anyone ever asked their child's therapist for a progress report? Our child has been working with one for almost 10 months and I've been getting a lot of push back from the therapist for a write-up. My intent for this report is simply to help advocate for more services and help inform any future clinician that works with my son about his profile.

Any insights here?

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the group. What do you think about asking for a one time letter of support? If she thinks he needs more of a certain type of service for like school... maybe ?

I am assuming she is documenting sessions and in the future you could fill out a release of information to give future specialist access to this information.

Not sure if this person is a private provider or connections to his health care.

Many time I encounter parents that don't want anything documented for fear of reprocessing in the future.

Hope this helps.
