I was on PTU and was having hair loss but that was because my thyroid levels were going down. Hair loss can happen when your thyroid levels are moving. I have just gone into remission with Graves' after being ill for 3 years and my hair fell out so much I had to go to Lucinda Ellery to have hair extensions put in for 2 of those years. My hair has stopped dropping out now because my levels are stable. I did not go bald btw but my hair was very very thin. It will grow back but hair recovery can take months or even years I am afraid.

Can you post your recent blood results TSH, T4 & T3, vitamin D and Ferritin these can all cause hair loss. I once had a vitamin D level of 7 and my hair was falling out at an alarming rate. Also if you are taking too much PTU and your TSH is too high, mine was 9 because my consultant endo overdosed me on it stupid man!

I began taking something called Protandim in April last year. This stopped my Thyroid issues completely and I have been in normal range with bloods now for over a year. Hair growth is back up to above mormal with around an inch of growth per month too.

Happy to share info as this has been incredible for me as they wanted to take my Thyroid out, I refused and asked ot be given 3 months to wort this out (I was allergic to the meds). The rest shall we say is history.
