Red light therapy safe for thyroid?
I had bought a LED light therapy mask to treat my rosacea and for general anti ageing as some of the before and afters on line look great! As I was reading through the instructions it says that the mask is not to be used by thyroid patients. I’m not sure how much credence to give to this as the leaflets

How is Armour working these days...?
According to the most recent info on the STTM, Armour is currently the only good brand of NDT available. That´s kind of surprising, given how the STTM kept saying a few years ago that reformulated Armour was no longer working... So, is this more about Armour being less bad than other brands of NDT, or

What is causing my hair loss?
Hi everyone, I’m a 17 year old female and for the past year I’ve been noticing gradual hair loss all over my scalp. My pony tail has significantly shrunk to the point where I no longer tie my hair up. This is also due to having a receding hairline, but the hair loss has only made it worse. The hair loss

Telogen effluvium
Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with telogen effluvium after I lost approx 50-60% of my hair in two weeks. My hair loss is diffuse across most of my head. I am also experiencing stinging & sensitivity of my scalp. Does anyone else have this?

thinning hair
Over the past 12 months, my hair has become very thin. Every time I run my hand through, hairs fall out and when I wash my hair, a lot goes down the pughole. I feel very well, by the way. My T3 is normal but high, my T4 is well above the range and my TSH is totally supressed. I have no overdosing symptoms

Hair loss
I am on 100mcg levothyroxine and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's just over a year ago. I am beside myself as I am losing so much head hair, not in patches but all over and I've also lost a lot of my eyelashes. The rest of my body hair I don't care about! Is this is symptom of hypothyroidism and/or Hashimoto's

Alopecia triggered by pregnancy
Hi All, I'm currently 6 months pregnant and when I was 2 months, my hairdresser noticed a bald spot on my head. That bald spot turned out to become alopecia areata - in the next few months I've lost almost all of my hair and I'm now starting to loose my eyebrows and eyelashes, assuming it will become

Hi All, I am new to this, so I am just going to get straight to it. In the last few weeks I have lost about 25% of my hair, it is coming out in clumps in my hands when I touch it. It seems to be coming out all over, very evenly over my scalp.I have been to the doctors and had blood tests and they have

Hair loss
Over the last year I've been losing hair and texture has changed.... I've tried a strengtheners, Biotin and so on. I am on Prednisone, Plaquenil, and Imuran; which can cause loss of hair but at this point a necessity. Are there any hair remedies???

Universalis time frame?
Hi, I'm new to this group so I apologise for jumping straight in with a question. I'm a 37 year old male and have developed alopecia universalis. I've so far lost all my eyebrows, most of my eye lashes and all of my nose hairs. My head is still quite patchy but I've shaved it. My question (eventually

I’m still so new to this
It has now been 10 weeks since I was told by my hairdresser that I had a medium sized, round bald patch behind my ear and as someone who has always had really long thick hair this was such a shock! I have now notice another one on the back of my head by my neck. Neither of which have any signs of regrowth

Weird presentation of alopecia
Hi guys, Sorry this is my first post, I haven’t known what to say in the past but my alopecia seems to have gone into overdrive. I’ve already had steroid injections earlier this year, then suffered a bout of telogen effluvium which took about 60% of the hair I had left. I am looking hot ;). In the last

Hi all, I asked on my previous post about sourcing T3. But I think the post got buried. I’m in the UK and want to buy some from a trusted source to try it as I don’t appear to be great at converting t4. Please could you PM me if you are in the UK saved have a good source or from anywhere and know

New here - alopecia
Am 66 and always had lovely thick, long hair. About 18 months ago a hairdresser told me I had a bald patch at the back of my head. We both thought it was due to having my hair tied up and pinned on my head so I wasn’t too worried. Since then it’s got thinner all over and most days my brush is full of

I went from tsh 20 to 21,95 and t4 from 12 to 13, so its not getting very worse (I started selemium zink and kelp same time as levo..not so smart maybe but who knows it helped. Do you think its rely needed to add 25 mg again?
