Feeling much better with Magnesium Citrate and an anti-depressant
After 45 years of suffering frequent PVC's I met a doctor who suggested magnesium citrate. I also dragged out the last report from my cardiologist who recommended an anti-depressant, advice which I had previously ignored. So I have been taking both for a few weeks now - 400 mg of Magnesium Citrate (not

I want to scratch my calves off! š¬ š±
The itching you get with liver disease, can it be localised or is it always all over? I could happily scratch my calves off, no amount of scratching takes the itch away! I've had this a while but is a lot worse lately. There's no rash or anything, it feels like it's under the skin and unitchable! Driving

Magnesium & PVCs
I just found this article and thought it was worth sharing. https://m.activebeat.com/diet-nutrition/8-warning-signs-of-magnesium-deficiency/9/ I would say I have 6 out of the 8 symptoms of low magnesium which includes PVCs. Iāve started taking a supplement for these, as well as a wide range of other

Where do PVCs come from?
A week before my 40th birthday and I had my first PVC āattackā. Not to say I never had a skilled heartbeat prior to this day, but never like this. Iāve read a lot of stories and responses on this site but I donāt seem to find anyone who can explain why they started. Iām no longer so worried about the

respiratory sinus arrhythmia?
I've been noticing my heart rate drastically change when breathing in and out. While breathing in, my heart rate increases and vice versa. This has been going on for a couple of years, and I haven't really thought much about it since I've read study's that say it's normal for relatively young people

Liver transplants
I was talking to a friend of mine about my liver problems and she thought that I may be too old (I'm nearly 72) for a liver transplant - is this correct? Thanks, Ron

Reversal of ALT & AST RATIO
Hi there, I have been waiting nearly a year for a Fibroscan in the NHS. I believe I have about another 3-6 month wait. I received blood results last week that my ALT is 38 and my AST is 47. My ratio works out as 1.24. My albumin is 51 and platelets 389. I am now worried sick but after researching things

Ectopic like feeling that lasts 2-3 seconds. What is it?
Hello everyone. I know this topic is discussed frequently but I really need help with this weird feeling concerning my heart. I get PVC's and PAC's mostly everyday and although these gave me quite the scare when they first appeared now they are just a nuisance. But maybe twice a month I get this different

General malaise
Hi, I am a bit confused by my symptoms and wonder whether anyone can help? Over the past few weeks I have been feeling very strange - a general malaise, nausea, loss of appetite and occasional chest discomfort, centred near the sternum. As a result of all this, I also feel generally restless. This morning

Research request- cirrhosis and ascites related.
Can you help with a new research project? Do you have or do you care for someone with cirrhosis or someone who has ascites? The team at Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Brighton and Sussex University Hospital are trying to improve end of life care for people with advanced cirrhosis and fluid

Extreme fluctuating pulse, all tests normal. Ablation done 2 years ago.
Hi everyone, Just curious if anybody else finds themselves in the same predicament as me? In 2014, I started suffering terribly frequent PVCs (ectopics), around 10,000 a day, as well as a very unsteady pulse. I had an ablation in February 2016, and this thankfully was successful and eliminated 98% of

Hello, my first time posting here. My fiancƩ (48 male) was diagnosed in the ER with cirrhosis caused by alcohol about 3 weeks ago. They said his liver was enlarged so they did an ultrasound, we went to a GI doctor a few days later and gave him a meld of 28 and put him on 2 fluid meds for ascites. He

Curable or not?
I was diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis and end-stage liver disease/cirrhosis last year. I had jaundice and recurrent ascites, and my last paracentesis was in December. (The fluid has stayed off.) I had doctors in the US tell me that I have a shortened life expectancy, cannot live alone, etc. I have
