Ascites / Paracentesis
I have posted before on how my husband has alcohol related cirrhosis. He stopped drinking the day he was admitted in the hospital, Aug 12, 2022. He remained there for 1 week. Since he has been released, his ascites has got worse. It has prevented him from eating and makes him very tired and hard

Does AF continue to progress silently when using drugs to successfully stop AF episodes?
I was of the belief that if my low burden Vagal AF could be controlled without drugs, by using techniques to stimulate the vagal nerve then I would not need to take drugs. The advantage is I would be able to track my AF to see if it worsens over time. I saw a new EP a month ago and he understood vagal

recurring aceties
my son has decompensated cirrhosis and goes to a hospice once a week to get fluid drained - he has a permanent drain fitted . He is getting worried as the last three weeks they’ve drained 5. 7. Then 8 litres. Does this mean his liver is getting worse ? I’ve read that a TIPS procedure could help -

How many ablations can you have?
Hello everybody hope you’re well as can be expected, With my pvcs playing up and having some tiny snippets of fast heart rate, I’m nearly two years post my second rf ablation, just thought I’d ask how many ablations you can have before your ep gives up and chucks me on the knackers yard. No more multiple PVCs after daily sauna
I am a 58 years old male. I went into cardiac arrest almost 2 years ago when I was rapid afib. I now have a pacemaker defibrilator. Thanks to my diet, rich in potassium and magnesium, I have been afib free most of the time. Though at times I still had multiple PVC's, bigeminy usually at lunch time.

Going in For Second Ablation
Hi folks! I had my first ablation over four years ago, at Texas Cardiac Arrythmia with Dr. Andrea Natale. I wasn't able to come off my medication after, but the meds then worked to control my afib and numerous PVCs where it didn't pre-ablation. During these four years I had been taking 50 mg of Flecainide

Hoes it going fellow heart obsessed lot, do any of you guys take this and how much? I’ve tried magnesium and with the beta blockers it seems to slow my heart way too much. Pvcs are frequent but not as bad as they were. They’re there all the time so looking for a natural help. Cod liver oil is good for

Liver cirrhosis
Hi all, Long story short my farther has liver cirrhosis caused by excessive alcohol which was diagnosed some years ago. Unfortunately he will not discuss it and has said in the past some bizzare stuff about it being misdiagnosed that it’s only 0.01% damaged and so on. It’s blatantly clear he has

Bigeminy HR confusion. 31 bpm or 62 bpm?
Hi all, l wonder if anyone can explain if a PVC is actually a beat to be counted in the bpm total. My husband was experiencing palpitations tonight, which is not unusual for him. His fitbit said 62 bpm. Taking his pulse manually l recorded 31 bpm, counting for the whole minute. I counted the prominent

Breakthrough episode (Update)
My EP only put me on a miniscule dosage of sotalol as I was doing it out of hospital and couldn't be directly monitored (40mg twice a day). I feel 1000 times better, no kidding, since starting the sotalol even at this low dose. No more daily PVCs, no more extreme fatigue. After checking my QTC to

PVCs and sleep/screentime
Suffered from PVCs since my early 20s (now late 40s) - usually just the odd afternoon a couple of times a year and the occasional noticeable skip. Around the vaccines and covid they went full-time, bigeminy, prolonged pvcs and multiple trips to cardio/a&e. All benign and supposedly not frequent enough

I had 3 ablations at MUSC to address PVC’s and ARVC, got an ICD after that, then developed AFib followed by an atrial ablation and finally a cardioversion to fix atrial flutter a month after the shocker. I’ve felt fine through all of this - asymptomatic all along. I’m 70 and was a runner for 22 years

Can you have multiple heart 'problem' types at the same time and what's the significance?
So far on my list over the last few years, I've had Atrial Fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, Sinus Bradycardia, Premature Atrial Contractions, (bigeminy, trigeminy) and Premature Ventricular Contraction, Right Bundle Branch Block and now it looks like potentially Atrioventricular nodal reentry

Low heart rate on my Apple Watch after exercise
I get a low heart rate reading after exercise. This lasts for approximately 2 hours. I have been diagnosed with PVC and taking 50 mg of flecainide twice daily. Are there any suggestions .

More problems with PVCs.
It’s now nearly a month since I had a quadruple bypass. For over a week I’ve had lots of PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) as referred to in an earlier post, but today they have gone into overdrive. I’ve had them since about 0900 this morning and it’s now just past midnight. The frequency varies

loads of pvcs
had my first cardio version last Wednesday after being in AF for 3 months. I flipped back into NSR after the first shock which is great but since then I have been dealing with 1000s of pvcs. 4-8 per mins. It is draining! I knew they say that everyone gets them although not this many I guess. I feel

1000's of PVCs!
So about 5 weeks ago, out of nowhere, I started with PVCs constantly over a 24 hour period. It stopped the next day. It happened again 2 days later, again gor 24 hours. Then about 4 days after that, I was woken up at 4am by really strong heart flutters. I got up, went to work (I work in cardiac theatres

Ongoing nausea
I am on the full cocktail of meds for HCM and AF. Bisoprolol was changed to 6.25 mg Nebivolol 5 weeks ago due to increased PVCs which are now under control. Am suffering with constant pretty bad nausea BUT this had started on and off a few weeks before the change of beta blocker. I was having good and
