I had an Endoscopic ultrasound on Tuesday where they confirmed I have Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (SOD) Type 1. Last week I was diagnosed with cirrhosis with a score of 22.5. I'm still not sure what this score really means except I'm in the risk category (20-25). A score over 25 is high risk. I'm a bit all over the place.

I have no idea about either but I do know that new diagnoses can knock you for six. Especially cirrhosis. And when you don’t fully understand what you’ve been told you can reach for doctor google and end up in a right old state. It might be worth ringing the BLT helpline, I’m sure the nurses there will be able to answer your questions. Once you’ve got more information you might feel more in control. Whenever I get news like that I escape reality and dive into a crime novel with a bar of chocolate, the victims always having a worse time than me. Look after yourself
