Weird feeling in toes and wobbly walking
This last year of the pandemic I’ve not addressed some things I should have what with the many difficulties. Things have piled up and I’m trying to sort them out one a a time. One thing is this issue with my toes. When I flex them it feels sort of strange, like they are “crunching”. Seems

Asthma ruining my life
I am afraid to play sports due to worrying about dying of asthma attack. I take regular meds fostair, montelukast… peak flow is 800 but when I play sports during summer months my breathing is worse. I get breathless doing light exercise I normally run 10k in under 45mins can’t run no more due to pollen

Chest pain*, spasm & tightness
*the pain is ongoing & is on breathing; so not a heart/emergency problem, just after advice! Hey- hope everyone is ok and hay fever ain’t causing too many issues. I’m having quite a few symptoms currently relating to the above. My chest goes tight, spasms as in all my lungs seize up like a fist 🤜🏻

IBS, headaches and diabetes
Hi I have been suffering with headaches for awhile now and it seems to be linked to whenever I eat sweet foods. I stopped eating sweet foods last week and headaches went away. I wondered if this is a sign of diabetes? I struggle to eat a healthy diet as most healthy foods flare up IBS D. I wanted to

Low carb rebel (inspired by Rosina1871's question of yesterday)
This was originally going to be a response to Rosina1871, but I then decided to make it a separate post as I would like to see other people's comments on my own experience. I too understood that 'a low carb diet is necessary when on steroids to avoid weight gain', so for a time I diligently followed

Naive question
I know that a low carb diet is necessary when on steroids to avoid weight gain, but does the different dosage of steroids influence the amount of carbs you can eat? Ie if you are on 30mg are any carbs more likely to give weight gain than say if you are only on 5mg. Sorry if I haven’t worded that too

Low carb toad-in-the-hole/yorkshire pudding/popovers
The recipe has been going around the internet, it's simple and delicious. 1 egg 60 g/ml of double cream. 8 g/1 tbsp arrowroot flour Mix them together, and use as you would use a flour based batter. In this case, I put the sausages in a 200C oven with ghee (you want hot fat) to until cooked, then pour

Treatments for Hashimotos antibodies
Hi all, I have already gone gluten free and have started supplementing properly particularly with selenium to lower my Hashimotos antibodies, just been upped on levothyroxine to 100mg to get my TSH under 2.5 as I will be trying to conceive soon. Also had a recent miscarriage which may have been due to

Switch to MART fostair from seretide
Having been on seretide 250mg for a good few years, as well as added in spiriva respimat, fexofenadine, montelukast and nasal spray (recent change to dymista), have been switched onto fostair 100/6 MART. According to my plan, its 2 puffs twice daily, plus an extra 4 as and when. This change was made

I have found my Peak Flow readings = 580 in 2008, 550 in 2011, 550 in 2014, 550 in 2020. I think these are good readings = only mild asthma?
Nurse thinks my asthma is getting worse - I think it's steady & Mild?

Hi I am now living in France from U.K. I have been on sera tide 500 x 2 puffs a day for years. For my asthma. I also have mild bronchiectasis. My lung capacity has gradually reduced over recent years. Peak flow used to be 250 but recently below 180. My doctor in France said seratide was old fashioned

Brain Fog
Hi I'm new here, though I've posted on the Thyroid Forum before. I'm a 51 year old male. In 2014 I went on a low carb high fat diet and it affected my thyroid function, causing low energy and brain fog. I self-medicated with dessicated thyroid for four or five years without any relief of symptoms - I

Gadgets
I think this is all the gadgets I have acquired since I cut back on carbohydrates. My favourite and the most used is the mortar and pestle (the world's original gadget?). I use it almost every day, and sometimes stroke it when I walk past. It's beautiful. The most essential is the hand blender

'Interesting' Endo Appointment Yesterday!!
So, my much awaited endocrinologist appointment finally came yesterday. I took my husband with me, as he has a far more science based brain than me, and can remember all the articles I've given him to read (I read and can't seem to retain information these days. Anyway, I had printed out all my thyroid

I was just wondering if anyone else is finding problems breathing. I’ve used my ventolin and it was better for a minute or two but now it’s difficult to breathe again. My peak flow I’snt too bad. It’s about 400.
