Low carb granola, has 6gm carbs per 60gm serving, great with yogurt ( I use coconut 3gm carbs per 100gm) or as a trail mix

That looks lovely 😋 I like granola too but usually have linseed’ oatmeal’ with chia jam on most days so I thought I’d try making granola bars (with hemp hearts and coconut 🥥). They are a nice addition 😀 The net carb count is about 5g per bar and they have 4g fibre as well 🍫 This link takes you to the recipe:sweetashoney.co/keto-granol...

Where do you get the sugar free syrup from?

I’m in the UK so I bought mine from this link waldenfarmsltd.co.uk

My taste buds think that the maple walnut is not bad which is what I used here. It does have a slight artificial taste but that doesn’t come out if it’s used in cooking or mixed in with oatmeal etc It just gives a sweet flavour which is what I like

It really is good, funnily enough my daughter came home yesterday, we don’t keep Bread or cereals etc in the house so there was nothing for her to have for breakfast this morning. She had some “granola” and my coconut yogurt and said it was actually really nice! I’m sure she thinks we eat wood shavings most of the time!!! 😀

Not being thick, but whats in the granola, I love coconut but most granolas have loads of nuts, and I'm not that fond of nuts, looking for alternative ingredients or suggestions.

It’s a shame that you’re not keen on nuts but take a look at this recipe dietdoctor.com/recipes/gold...

It does have one type of nut but it’s mainly seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and flaxseed) along with coconut 🥥 Might that work?

I also searched for “nut free low carb granola” and several seed-based recipe links appear so that might help you too 😊

It looks delicious - I thought that "granola", almost by definition, contained Oats - to which I am allergic.

Well it’s tricky to know what to call it it’s not cereal, it contains no cereal hence “granola” in inverted comas 😁 no oats either...

It turns out it was originally a trademark and yes, all grains....

Original Granola box. Partially digested! 🤢

Haha yes I watched a great interview with Ivor Cummings and Gary and Belinda fettke she had traced the food pyramid all the way back to the 1800s

The food pyramid is mind boggling. It is created by the USDA. That's the Department of Agriculture. Their job is 100% selling agricultural products, they do not have a public health remit. Yet for someone reason, they got to describe the healthy diet across the anglophone world.

I think that Dickensian Gruel was a good cure for masturbation - and, if they kept the kids malnourished, they were less rebellious!

Yes I think you’re right. My OH is trying low carb but misses muesli with yoghurt so he’s bought some Raw Gorilla muesli from Ocado. It seems to have the same kind of seed mix we’ve been talking about here. As for taste, this substitution seems to work well 😊Worth trying?

I tried the paleo company granola but they put coconut syrup and chicory root extract, very high FODMAP / inulin so took there basic recipe and and omitted the two (bad for me) ingredients and used eyrithritol and coconut oil instead....
