I have been suffering with headaches for awhile now and it seems to be linked to whenever I eat sweet foods. I stopped eating sweet foods last week and headaches went away. I wondered if this is a sign of diabetes? I struggle to eat a healthy diet as most healthy foods flare up IBS D. I wanted to try low carb but every time I try it flares up IBS D symptoms. For example I can’t eat eggs, fatty foods or Greek yogurt as I get a flare. So I feel like I am in catch 22. Any one else like this?

I get headache sometimes when my IBS D plays up. Have u tried the fodmap diet speak with ur doctor to see if he can send u to a dietrition hope it settles down soon
Hi huggit I get the occasional headache but feel that mine might be down to stress. From what I have read online, sugar can trigger IBS, but if you have concerns about diabetes perhaps you could see your doc and have a test?
Like you I struggle to eat a healthy diet as most healthy foods trigger IBS D. I have to mostly avoid the same foods you mention and most fruit and vegetables or have tiny portions. It does seem to be an almost ridiculous situation to be in!
The IBS Network recommended the book “The body keeps the score” by Bessel van Der Kolk and I have found that very illuminating.
It could be your gall bladder seeing that dairy and fats seem to trigger a flare up
Hi huggit I’ve got gallstones and can’t eat fatty food or dairy , not saying you have them but could be gallbladder connected as if there’s a problem with it then it struggles and causes problems digesting fatty food x
I also have problems with healthy food I am unable to tolerate eggs in anyway if eaten on their own I used to always have poached egg on toast for breakfast but no more it results in cramps and diarrhoea I am now trying a fat free diet to see if that makes any difference to IBSDl
