The Flare That Keeps on Giving
Remarkably for me,
prednisone
, once I got the hang of it, has been a drug I tolerate pretty well. I almost feel like I need to start the whole tapering process all over again, as I can’t seem to shake this flare.

Itching due to medication??
Hello, I had a liver transplant 3 years ago and take tacrolimus, mycophenolate and
prednisone
for anti rejection. I have recently had a very itchy localised rash on my neck which I have been treating with hydrocortisone cream. This is having no effect.

Prednisone and hair coloring
My stylist is blaming the
prednisone
after a disastrous hair coloring episode…going from grey to my usual blonde tone and it turned bright orange….really bright orange! Has anyone had difficulty with hair coloring while on
prednisone
?

GCA Osteoarthritis
My neuro opthamologist is treating my GCA with
prednisone
at 5mg/day. The rheumatologist wants to treat the osteoarthritis with 30mg of
prednisone
and he also mentioned Actemra infusion. Not really sure what to do. Vision is opthamologist area but arthritis is rheumatologist specialty.

To take or not to take daily dose of Prednisone before or after blood work (ESR and CRP), that is the question!
I'm going for blood work tomorrow morning, to check inflammatory markers, though not blood sugars as they have always been normal, so I can have breakfast beforehand. I usually take my Pred with breakfast (3.5 mg). Should I take my Pred as usual with breakfast before the tests or wait until afterwards

What does "burn itself out" mean?
Prednisone
counters this. My question is, If this means my adrenal glands are not functioning properly, how will this ever change as long as I am replacing their activity with
prednisone
? What does it mean that PMR will "burn itself out"?

A Miracle
It was a 2 year and 9 month pain journey that started at 3am in the ER where he was given 50 mg of
Prednisone
. His body was stiff, he could barely walk, lift his arms or turn over in bed at this time. He was in so much pain.

Anemia
I started on 80 mg of
Prednisone
in October of 2020. I am now taking 11 1/2 mg . I was just diagnosed with anemia. The last time I was diagnosed with anemia was in 2020 when I got GCA. I did not have anemia since then. Can taking
Prednisone
for almost 3 years be a cause of anemia?

Flare after vaccine
Yesterday I had mild shoulder pain so I added another 5mg of
prednisone
to my pill box for a week. I was taking 3.5mg so I will be taking 8.5mg for a week. My question is after the week of extra
prednisone
should I go back to 3.5mg or 3.75mg where I was controlling my PMR.

Another update on potential meds intolerance
I have been prescribed by two of my endos hydrocortisone and even
prednisone
for a couple of months as my ACTH is also low in range. Interestingly aldosterone is double the range! Normally should be low alonside low cort, so I wasn't prescribed Florinef for low aldo.
