Advice on discussing results with GP please!
Hello - I am seeing my GP next week and am hoping for a referral to an endocrinologist based on my recent Medichecks results, listed below. But I am concerned that he will only look at TSH & F4 and just want to lower levothyroxine. I would greatly appreciate any advice, comments or resources with regard

Brand vs generic & R-alpha lipoid acid
Hello all, So maybe 3 to 4 weeks ago, I had posted a question asking if anyone had used Dr Burt Berksons therapy for PBC. Dr Berkson has worked with Dr Julian Whitaker. My dr here has worked w/Dr Whitaker. My dr confirmed that Dr Berkson has had positive results using r-alpha lipoic acids/selenium/

Two years post thyroid cancer and metastatic thyroid cancer my thyroglobulin is now 480. MRI, PET and radioactive iodine cannot find new site. How is this possible?

Free T3 & Reverse T3 issues
Hi - I'm new here and this is my first post. I would welcome any input on my Medichecks results. My history is Radioactive Iodine in 1988. Started Levothyroxine 100mcg a day in 2004. Occasionally my then GP would try dropping to 75mcg, but agreed to treat on symptoms rather than lab results and I stayed

Cannabis oil
The situation Rai is a bit more complicated . The oil for sale in holland and Barrett and on line is a component is cannabis called cpd. This is legal. The controversy in the press concerns the oil containing cpd and th c. Thc is the part which gives you the high and is hallucigenic hence illegal.

Urinary Iodine Concentrations and Mortality Among U.S. Adults
Iodine is, was, and will continue to be a controversial subject. There are people who have what I consider massive intakes of iodine (from supplements such as Lugol's or nascent iodine) and who suggest that we should all follow their example. There are others who are very cautious and positively avoid

Hi everyone.
M, 49, just had TT due to papillary carcinoma. Didn't know I had cancer six weeks ago, so not sure how I feel about it. Coming up two weeks after the second op, and I'm still incredibly fatigued. I have RAI due end of July, and hate the idea of being this knackered throughout the summer holidays! Anyway

Problems with iodine
Anyone had a reaction to Iodine not sure it suited me, is there an alternative? Will continue if it’s the best option but prefer not too, I have lots of allergies.

NDT making me feel hyper?
I have used NDT (Erfa Thyroid) for over 10 years. Suddenly this year I have had nasty hyper symptoms, but labs are normal. I have insomnia, heart papls, shaky hands etc. I tried to lower my dose but it made me have hypo AND hyper symptoms! Also my labs are too low if I lower my dose. So that is not a

I’ve recently joined the wet macula brigade unfortunately!
It good to have a forum to chat with people already diagnosed, I am 69 with one eye wet and the other dry, I have just had my first Avastin injection and the dreaded iodine that wasn’t used sparingly, I found the injection more painful than I was led to believe so not looking forward to the next, I have

Iodine content of six fish species, Norwegian dairy products and hen's egg
I have an unpleasant feeling that any deviation between the Norwegian Food Composition Table and this paper might be somewhat less than the UK equivalent. I was somewhat amazed at the huge iodine content of Norwegian pollack! Whilst it might be necessary to have a simplified system to approximate iodine

Tracheomalacia, or my goitre is squashing my trachea...
Hi everyone, Ultrasounds have shown my goitre is growing and is now 8-9 times the size of should be and is pressing on my trachea. A girlfriend says I wheeze a lot when I exercise, and sometimes I feel it pressing on my throat. I'm not on any thyroid meds, although the endo I saw thinks I should get

Cardiovascular morbidity and mortality after treatment of hyperthyroidism with either radioactive iodine or thyroidectomy
The choice between thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine (RAI) to treat hyperthyroidism has long been controversial. (Mind, we must not ignore the possibility of remaining long-term on anti-thyroid medication.) The possible side effects of RAI have been described, and discussed, at length over many years
