PTSD?
A nurse colleague of mine has been having major anxiety & panic attacks like I am. She was diagnosed today with PTSD, which I believe I may also have. I always thought that affected war, rape, violent crime victims. Now I'm wondering if years of seeing horrible things, but not being the "victim"

Pounding heartbeat
My heart, since February beats whit a very strong pulse. At rest, I feeel my pulse and I see my arms, feet, and belly shaking at every heartbeat. It’s not fast (60 bpm) but strong. It’s strange but I didn’t panicked, therefore I feel chest pain since February at every exercice and my pulse is stronger

Nightmares
Has anyone had nightmares and then they wake up are stuck in them for a bit? It keeps happening to me. I never get nightmares this frequently and never get stuck in them. It’s like I’m awake but still in the dream so I start crying or freaking out. Is there anything I can do to stop this? It’s really

PTSD after PP
So I still feel quite affected by my experience of PP, I can barely talk about it without crying and I think about it a lot more than I want to. I think I may have PTSD but am unsure who to approach to confirm this

Drugs and ptsd
So a ‘friend’ of mine told me that it is his opinion that drugs will not cure ptsd, guilt, trauma, etc. I had mentioned to him that I am willing to risk addiction to benzos as my life is truly unmanageable now. He looked at me as if I was nuts...I do not blame him but I wanted to say, ‘walk a mile

W9 R1 - Now I know
Very pleased with myself to have this under my belt - now I know for sure I can actually keep moving for 30 mins 😆 An uneventful outing with no drama which makes a pleasant change ! I’m not at all worried that I’m not doing anything like 5k. I think that will come when I start 40-45 mins which will

Finally, MRI Results!!
I expected to hear from my Neurologist Saturday. Weird, I know. But my neurologist is so crazy busy, he always uses weekends and holidays to catch up on paperwork and phone calls. And Saturday was a holiday on a weekend day, right? But no call! So, yesterday I called the Neuroscience

PTSD?
Hello! I was not certain where I could go to ask this, so I’ve found myself here. I was hoping someone could give me some opinions/feedback. I hope this is alright. A few years ago, I suffered from an emotionally traumatic event. I experienced a range of side effects from it, that I didn’t really think

Delayed onset post-partum psychosis
Does anyone have any experience of delayed onset PP? My daughter was 6m when I got it but the doctors didn’t believe it could be that due to the age of my baby. My psychiatrist now believes that’s what I had but it angers me that the diagnosis was missed!!

Benepali injections
Hi, I’ve been on Benepali injections for a couple of months now with great success 😀 I feel almost normal. I’m getting in a bit of a pickle as I find the actual injection hurts - I have to give myself a pep talk beforehand (and a chocolatey reward afterwards!). I’m no wimp. I inject methotrexate via

One off Appointment with Psychiatrist tomorrow, & feeling very anxious!
Hi, I changed GP practice in March as I was not able to get confirmation of years of depression & ptsd which I can only obtain through a GP AND a psychiatrist. The GP that I had B4 would not send me probably bcs I had been sent B4 after bad reaction to anti depressants, & psyches said I was physically

Those who think they can, and those who think they can't are both right! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
There comes a day for everyone, before or after graduation, when they have to decide whether they're going to be a runner, or give up. I started running last September and graduated in November. My judgement day came after a Christmas break. I'd spent a few days away with my family (remember when those

Three Down and More to Go . . .
Okay, Tuesday, I visited the vampires at the University Hospital to get the blood drawn my neurologist wanted. Yesterday, I got my mammagram done. Today, I got the introductory assessment from the Speech Pathologist my neurologist ordered. She wants to send me to get a barium swallowing test done ,

APP Partners Facebook Group
Hi all I wanted to let you all know that APP has started a Facebook group for partners of women who have had PP to connect, and support each other. To join your partner doesn't need to have experienced pp recently either, it is for anyone who is affected by PP, however long ago. It is a private group
