PPP Book
I just finished teresa twomey's book understanding postpartum psychosis: a temporary madness. I finished it in two days! Its a book about facts of PPP and about 15 stories of recovry of PPP. I skipped the stories of suicide and infanticide. I don't feel like I am in a good place to read them right now

Book about PPP
Hello, all! I have passed the one year mark of getting PPP and havevgreat news. I just published my first book, and it is a memoir of my experience with PPP and BP. It was a great way to process what I went through and found it therapeutic in a way. It was challenging bringing up memories I have repressed

Positives to come out of PP
I suffered with PP in August 2013 and it was the scariest thing I've ever experienced. However, 13 months later I applied for and was offered the job of Peer Support Worker for a Recovery College in the NHS, two days a week. I'd never worked in Mental Health before but having experienced PP I became

There is hope!
I received this from a client who is also a colleague - "I felt great after Saturday’s TRE session! My body seems to love this work. The session left me feeling relaxed and calm, and more grounded. More IN my body, if that makes sense. There was a bit of an energetic hum, but it didn’t keep me from

Traumatic experience
It's coming up to a year now that something happened to me which triggered all this anxiety/panic attacks etc. I can't help but find myself thinking 'why aren't I better now?! Why do I still feel as scared as I did when it first happened at times?!' What are other people's experiences with things like

self-pity
How do you deal with self pity and frustration during the recovery process. I had my PP episode/hospitalization in April of this year. I have had 2 car accidents and my son just broke his leg because my husband fell with him on the stairs. I feel like bad things keep happening. I know it could always

Happy Saturdays are made on Friday
I used to think I was happy with this great buzzing social life of mine. Out meeting great people most nights of the week. But the hangovers that followed were more than just the physical effects. There was the shame that I had drunk too much again. Then the realisation that although my memory of part

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie on the Forum and would really appreciate your feedback I've had IBS for about 10 years and I'm 64. In February this year I saw a Gastroenterologist at my local Hospital. My G.P.had referred me several months previously as my bowels had become very loose. By the time I saw

Misdiagnosed for 12 years...
Hi to all - 12 years ago I experienced a traumatic (for me) event that sent me into a deep depression. I had a history of depression, but this was unlike any before. Suddenly I could not be on time, think straight, multitask - and the panic attacks! Unbelievable. I was raising a 12 yr old daughter alone

So grateful to have found this site...
I suffered PP after the birth of my 1st daughter in 1988 I never even realised this is what it was until recently when I began reading about others who have experienced this condition on this site. There never was any doubt that there was something wrong with me at the time but I never remember anyone

Focusing on PTSD makes it worse for me
I find that I've evolved quite significantly in how I approach my disease. I have complex PTSD from profound, repeated childhood abuse and trauma (physical and emotional) and suffered PTSD symptoms from age 8 on. Brought to my knees 7 years ago (at age 44) after a traumatic rock climbing fall put me

How PTSD has changed me or made me stronger
Wondering if PTSd has changed you in positive ways, or made you stronger. What PTSD has done for me: I am now more grateful for kind friends and I let them know that. I appreciate my doggie Soooo much. When I come across others with PTSD I know how they feel. I know how much they struggle. I try to

Divorce grief triggers PTSD
I have been completely separated from my wife and two young children from Jan 2013 and then divorce on July 2015. I have grieved a massive amount the first year of the separation and more after the divorce was finalized. My self esteem has taken a major hit and my PTSD symptoms has kept me from pulling
