Results back, I am a medium methylator (C677 tested), any advice appreciated on trying methylated folate please (have homocysteine 11 too)
Hi, thanks for your previous help regarding folate/folic acid and the MTHFR gene tests. My results says I am a medium methylator so am presuming I have one mutation and not the double. I have felt worse on folic acid previously but only tried the general supermarket brand. Do you think it could be that

This gut/brain axis paper offers food therapies
Section 5.1. discusses food intervention. It’s a long paper and while much of it is above my pay grade, I thought it a good paper and more heavily referenced than any other I’ve read. It doesn’t talk about lectins, but Dr. Grundy does. http://gundrymd.com/reduce-lectins-diet/ I’ve read his book, The

Hello Mine is a bit of a long story so hope this is ok. I am 58 I had my gallbladder out in 2013 before that I thought I was eating not to bad but obviously I wasn’t. I had lots of gallstones, I got pancaraties and that’s how I knew I had a problem with gallstones. Anyway I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia

T3 now?
I joined this forum about 3 months ago and, on the helpful advice given, started taking selenium then. Following further blood tests, I added B12, B vitamins and D3 about a month ago. My blood test results before starting the supplements (on 75mcg thyroxine daily) were: TSH 0.88 (0.35 - 5.00) Free T4

Ridiculous over reaction to alcohol
Happy New Year to all! I have read that other b12 deficient folks have issues with alcohol so i thought i might post requesting info. I have never been able to drink large amounts of alcohol but at this point it seems my over reaction to alcohol is ridiculous. About 6 weeks ago i had 3 cranberry

For those who take NDT - what dose are you taking?
Good evening on New Year's Eve :-) I haven't posted here for a while, but thought I'd pop in and say hello and also to say a very big thank you to those who run the forum for their time and effort. I just thought I'd leave this (multi part!) question here. I'm just wondering for those who are taking

A few questions regarding my upcoming blood test
I am ordering the Thyroid Check Ultravit and the blood sample will be taken at my local surgery on the 8th January. The earliest appointment I can have there is 9.10am. I know that it is recommended to fast before the blood test (as well as not taking meds until after), but I am a shaking mess if I

I had a private blood test done and my antibodies have risen from 40 to 155 in the past 7 months although my TSH, T3 and T4 have gone up from a previous test but I still feel terrible, I have absolutely exhausted plus I’ve had yet another bladder infection (the last infection took 6 lots of antibiotics

Last month, The Telegraph reported, “Dementia is now Britain’s biggest killer,
Dr. Mark Hyman sent out his "Broken Brain" newsletter with the above headline. " overtaking heart disease for the first time, new figures have shown.” In America, it is the 6th leading cause of death, and since the year 2000, death by heart disease has been declining, and deaths from Alzheimer’s disease

My Mental Health Symptoms gone - Changed my way of eating
Please take a few minutes to read my Profile on healthunlocked, as it will explain what thyroid illness did to my mental health. I have had a horrendous physical illness for 36 years. It was diagnosed as Hypothyroidism, but in fact it turned out to be a long-winded named illness – Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

Can vitamin supplementation cause restless sleep?
I've recently started supplementing with B12, B complex, selenium and D3 as suggested by this forum. I take the B vitamins and selenium at night when I take my thyroxine and the D3 at lunchtime. Last night I woke every hour throughout the night and am wondering if this is common when starting vitamins

Is it OK to take B vitamins and D3 at same time?
Morning everyone I’m so sorry to ask this basic question but I’ve searched the site to try to find the answer. I take levo at bedtime. I’ve been taking B12, a B complex, D3, K2 and selenium with breakfast. (It makes it easier to get some iron and vitamin C in later in the day, as I know they need to

A risk-free life is far from being a healthy life.
Vitamin C and vitamin E. In one study, high doses of these antioxidant vitamins helped delay the need for medication. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Has been used to treat Parkinson disease, but it is controversial. Vitamin B6 can make some Parkinson disease medications less effective. Naturally-oriented

After my original post, I think it was PMRpro that asked for a more indepth description of my journey. I have an appointment in December 2017 with my Rheumy and am wondering what questions I should ask. So here is my journey: February 22, 2017 – Saw Dr Gio for pain behind my clavicle bone he ordered
