Pleural Effusion and terrified of chest drain
I was admitted to the hospital with a large
pleural
effusion
a few days ago and told I needed a chest drain which could take a couple of days as there's around 2 litres of fluid on my lungs. I suffer badly with anxiety (the biggest wimp!) and immediately had a panic attack.

Help, scared and need info
Asked for a chest xray and a
pleural
effusion
was found. Everyone telling me not to worry that it could be infection (I have had a cold for awhile but the chest discomfort has been going on for about 6-8 weeks). I looked up ovarian cancer and
pleural
effusion
and it is not good.

wheezing after lung scan
Hello, I have been having chest pain and i went to the ER 2 days ago. My d-dimer was high, so they suspected a lung clot. I had an xray and ECG, both were fine, so i was dismissed. I went to the hospital yesterday because it was getting worse, so they did a Pulmonary Ventilation perfusion Scan. they

Reclaiming my life. Where the process began.
My
pleural
effusion
required draining again but I had also developed a pericardial effusion. The thoracic surgeon said I would require surgery again but it was not an emergency. We could wait a few hours!

Update on 'Worried'
I had ascites back last year in July so I think I may have a
pleural
effusion
possibly? Has anyone experienced this? My cancer was stage 3b on diagnosis in 2012 and my recurrence in 2015 caused ascites and was spotted in my stomach cavity but thankfully 6 chemos (carbo only) got rid of it.

Stressed by Stress Test
I had a chemical stress test this past Fri. the 3 hr. one. I got the results on line yesterday and I don't see my Dr. until after Christmas. Of course I can't understand them and it's making me nuts. I can deal with anything except not knowing what I might be facing. By the way I think this is cruel

Has anyone had pleural effusion [three months post NED] that was not caused by recurrence
I now have a
pleural
effusion
that needs to be drained - I am only three months post NED scan. When I look up caused it always seems to be 'cancer' or recurrence, but I have had a
pleural
effusion
in the past and a couple of embolisms.
