Chest Infection
I started on my emergency Antibiotics Steroids and mucus tablets today, I didn't feel great yesterday had a bit of a temperature woke up first thing with a pain down my ribs at the back. My consultant said early intervention was the key as I have just got over three months of Pnuemonia. Hope I've done

Any ladies had a TVT mesh sling fitted for stress incontinence?
Just wondering whether any ladies out there have had a mesh sling fitted as a bladder repair. I had my Johnson & Johnson's Gynecare Mesh fitted in 2003 and it was taken off the market this year. One of the safety concerns is that the chemicals in the material of the mesh might leach into the body and

My meds are amytriptyline, tramodol, diazepam if having bad time for fm and paracetamol and ibuprofen for shoulder impingement which I am having injection on Tuesday so hopefully that will be the end of that. Anyway my daughter went to tesco because they had picked prescription for amytriptyline and

Regraduation - Yessss!
Today I did my third 30 minute run and my fastest ever time - I cant believe it! I graduated back in June but lapsed after doing my 5k Race for Life run for 7 weeks. The lapse was a combination of injury, life & sheer laziness. It was so hard to start again. The hardest run was that first run

Last Week - Redoing week 5
Since I ended up only being able to do one run of week 5 last week due to being in London one day and my phone ringing off the hook all morning on another day, I've decided to start week 5 over and do it this week instead. (whoo, run on sentence!) Doing this puts me a full week behind, but it just

Infections
Does anyone else have the same problem as I have? I no sooner recover from one infection and have barely a week before my next one is waiting to pounce :-(. I dont know if I'm doing something wrong. I'm meticulous with personal hygiene and have the hand gels all over the house, I carry one in my handbag

Two weeks postgrad and a cheeky little jog in Paris :)
It was our wedding anniversary last Monday and we went for a little trip to Paris for a few days to celebrate and while we were there we went out for a jog in the Jardin des Tuileries, it was absolutely fantastic!!! We were staying in a hotel very near to there and went through the park a few times

very high GGT levels anyone?
I have consistantly high GGT levels in my blood tests over several months. The dr sent me for a liver scan which was clear then nothing more was said about it, except for asking me how much I drank! With all my painkillers more than the occasional glass is a distant dream !! I am concerned about it

The Science of APS
I have seen quite a bit of discussion of personal experiences with and management of APS/Hughs; but I have not seen much on the science of it, which I believe is important for us to understand, at least at some basic level. Therefore, I am posting what folllows regarding the possible infectious origin

What are your favourite running songs?
Hi all. Even though I am only half way through the c25k plan and still using the podcasts, I am already assembling playlists on my iPhone to warm up/ run /cool down to for when I graduate. I'm curious as to what other people's favourite tunes are to run to that make you feel happy, motivated and (even

The 'asthma control' playlist
In an idle moment today when I should have been working, I started putting together a playlist in my head of songs I could play to my lungs to calm them down (hey, music therapy has had some good press for brain injuries, why not lungs? ;)) So far I only have three possibilities: Ain't Misbehavin'
