Success on Metformin?

Hi

My first round of IVF has failed and my doctor has asked me to go on Metformin for 12 weeks. Has anyone had any success conceiving naturally on this?

The side effects are proving difficult (I’m a sensitive flower sometimes) but determined to carry on taking them.

I've never heard of this. Do you have PCOS or something since he gives you that advice?

OK. I wish you all luck wether you conceive naturally on Metformin or it could help you to keep your little sprout inside in a subsequent ET 😘

I'm sorry your first round of IVF was unsuccessful.

This does sound a little unusual. As sun-and-rain asks do you have PCOS? My experience (def not a fertility expert!) is that they usually start people on metformin to try and help regulate their cycles if the have insulin resistant PCOS. This is usually before any Assisted Conception help like IVF will have been offered. Have they just put you on this medication until your next round of IVF?

Yes this apparently can assist with fertility and it’s just until my next round of IVF. I have symptoms of PCOS but I don’t fit the stereotype of someone with PCOS.

I’ve got one frozen one and I expected the next round to be far less injections etc but seems they’ll be more 😩

I m sorry that ur first cycle didn’t work . I m in the same boat like u I had a failed cycle of ivf last month on my follow up appointment doctor gave me matformin until my next round of ivf.. and again like u I don’t have all the PCOS symptoms however by looking at some the things like my follicles didn’t respond very well and I had some missed periods over the years indicate that I might have PCOS...

I have seen soo many successe stories from matformin so I m really hoping for a miracle..
