Blood sugar testing

Hi

I'm type 2 diabetic and I currently manage this by taking metformin 3 times per day weight each meal.

I am concerned that I never know what my blood sugar readings are and asked my gp if I could have a test kit however was told I didn't need one.

Does anyone test theirs and if so what type of monitor do you use?

Lynn x

Dear Wordsley Girl

GP's in the uk will only issue them to type 1

if you live in the uk and have not done it , you might find the expert programme helpfull

many type two diabetics do test there own blood sugars levels, i do as a way of monitoring how well i am managing my levels.there are lots of monitors out there as personanly i just read the reviews and went with that.
