Is it my lungs or PMR
I have gone back in my memory trying to figure out when my issues all began and in what order. I believe my PMR started in early 2019 when preparing for a dog show (possibly sooner and I just blamed it on old age LOL). Muscle weakness and shortness of breath were new to me. Over the next several months

vita health group physio? & Simponi question
Hi I have ankylosing spondylitis and inject 100ml of Simponi every 4 weeks, I just had MOHs surgery for skin cancer on my nose. I got an infection so this messed up my injections, did my injection then injected again 3 weeks later as pain was horrific. I have knee problems and went to rheumatology

Daily back pain
I have had daily middle / upper back pain for 2 and a half years. I have pernicious anaemia too. G.p. thinks my pain is muscular. I've seen several physiotherapists. The current one thinks my pain is muscular caused by poor posture. I think she's probably right. I think it's been exacerbated by my job

COVID, FND, and Cymbalta Ruined My Life
This is a long story, and I apologize in advance for any, bitter angry undertones. I'll skip all of the grief I've had in life and the hard times that I've experienced. I'll try to keep it to the medical issues. It will feel good to tell a part of my story, arguably the hardest I've been through.***Trigger

I get infused ever week for 3 weeks, then 1 week off and continue for 28 infusions. I have had 6 infusions

Atorvastatin
I was put on 80mg Atorvastatin following a heart attack/2 x stents in 2021. Since January this year have had very bad back pain, no apparent reason yet despite physio, x rays etc. Wondering if could be statins? anybody else had pain related to them?

Newbie
Hi all, I am new to the journey of AN. I have had trouble with one sided deafness, facial droop, double vision, voice and swallow for 2.5 yrs. To start with my local A&E thought I’d had a stroke, but ct and MRI was clear. Then they thought functional? migraines? Myasthenia? I responded really well

Our mum was recently diagnosed with CBD
Our lovely, independent and previously very active mum, Chris, was diagnosed with CBD on 16th April 2024. Her symptoms started out over 3 years ago with loss of movement in right fingers, then a clenched fist which spread to right arm and shoulder. After a couple of falls at home (mainly down steps

Causes Of Breathlessness
My asthma used to be simple. Periodic periods of tight chest and breathlessness. Then it worsened and they diagnosed asthma, many hospital visits later and i got up to severe asthma with poor control. Then I realised that my breathlessness was not simply asthma. There were very sharp attacks that

Mental barriers crossed
Week 7 done without injury this time - last time I was out of action for weeks due to injury following the first run of week 7 (take home from that experience was 'see the physio sooner rather than later'). I had planned to do the third run this week on the almost flat running track in the local park

Out of action and a bit gutted...
Hi everyone, I took up running a year ago and have really enjoyed 'the journey' of seeing my fitness improve, my outlook brighten and being able to go further than I thought possible. BUT, it's come at a cost. Each time I've been out recently, I've had a pain in my knee which simply won't shift.

Stairlift and DNR update
Hello again. Hubby medically fit and almost ready for discharge- mobility has really gone downhill. Occ Therapy and Physio are involved. As we don’t have a stairlift (or any aids at all as neither of us have needed them) OT wanted hubby to live downstairs (toilets are upstairs) and use a comode. He

Mum's battle
Hi all, Mum has suffered from adrenal insufficiency over the past 15 years, as well as pernicious anemia, hypothyroidism, low WBC count and was hospitalised several times with low electrolytes. The electrolyte imbalance was caused by the cortisol acetate supplement she takes. She was numerous doctors

Aortic valve replacement recuperation
Hi, I am scheduled for AVR (hemi-sternotomy and tissue valve) on 8 May and am interested to hear of others feedback as to recuperation. If all goes well with the op I expect to back home within the week. I've been told that after 6 weeks I should be back doing most daily activities. albeit gradually
