Lower Back Pain
Hello, I have suffered from lower back pain for years on and off, having MRI Scans, physio sessions, taking pain killers. This year the pain never goes away. The MRI Scan shows dehydrated bulging discs at L4 & L5. I exercise and walk. I really struggle to bend down and sit for over 10 minutes.

PMR or Arthritis?
I have been reading your forum since I was diagnosed with PMR just over 2 years ago. I have found it incredibly informative, helpful and comforting, but this is my 1st post. I was diagnosed with PMR after a couple of months of extreme pain and stiffness in the neck, shoulders hips and knee, to the extent

Hi all, I wanted to ask if there is any hypo/Hashi’s folk on this forum who has the same or similar presentation to me. About 12 years ago, after being diagnosed with celiac disease the GP ran some blood tests for my thyroid. The TSH level came back very high and out of range. The GP asked me if I felt

Calcified tendonitis
Has anyone experienced calcified tendinitis? I have been diagnosed with this after 6 months of excruciating shoulder pain. GP kept just prescribing painkillers then I saw the physio who advised me to have an X-ray. I am now having a steroid injection in my shoulder followed by physio, and hopefully this

Post concussion issues
Hi all, I've mentioned before that I was diagnosed after my concussion as having oculomotor and vestibular problems - and was given repetitive physio exercises to do for rehab - which did help enormously with coping in supermarkets and similar environments, but I've never seen much on here about other

Mini maze update.
Apologies I know I promised to post updates and haven't. I had my mini maze surgery back in September with the wonderful Mr Hunter on the NHS. I've been in NSR ever since which is amazing as I had moved to persistant Afib and I felt pretty awful all the time before surgery. I am soooo grateful to Mr

Follow up to my last post about nausea & unable to eat.
Hi again folks. I posted 16 days ago about feeling weak, nauseous & being unable to eat plus my reluctance to go to A & E as I'd been with similar symptoms just a couple of weeks before. However, I did go to A & E where I was admitted after a blood test confirming low sodium levels (again) and a really

Edit: Added the elevation profile from said marathon. Its making my knee twinge just looking at it.
Back in the olden days (2022), I ran the Giant's Head Marathon, and my knee hasn't spoken to me since. It was a brutal course with around 1000m elevation gain that took you across an array

Lower back Pain Conflicting Options Physio/Osteopath
I have had really lower back pain for best part of 6 months. Physio tells me I have degenerative disc disease L5 and my osteopath says no, your pelvis is slightly misaligned and the pain is coming from your sacroiliac joint. I saw another osteopath who claimed it was all muscular tightness. Whilst

I am/was/ a physically fit 55 yr old man and in late October I had 3 weeks in Spain. The weather was 26-30C and I was in the sea everyday at 7.30am or running or cycling. A week later and I am back in dear old Blighty 14C, with the most painful left shoulder and arm. (I have pins in this from a cycling

Hello hello... and a query
I don't check in here often enough. MrGM was plagued with severe back pain almost all of last year - one early episode that took the usual month to get over, an all too brief period without and then a very long episode well over 6 months... and some possibility that a rather different pain they've been

Update on Medical Professionals and how to access dental treatment as housebound
Hello, further to my last post, my father in law has had a visit from the Parkinsons Nurse and he won't be revisiting until 3 months time. He has given us a contact email and told us to contact him if things change. My mother in law asked if he was going to get any better (this has been a constant

19 days post op - been very tough especially when COVID thrown into the mix! My muscle tone wasn’t great pre-op but is now nonexistent. Is it possible to build muscle tone with PMR? Without PMR it’s possible to build good muscle tone with regular exercises but no matter how frequently I do my post op

HU can be so informative providing desperate people with hope that is not provided by doctors, neurologists and the medical professionals, so I mean the NHS!!!!I know this is controversial with many but unfortunately those of us who are under the London or Sheffield clinic have taken so long to get there

Hip & abdomen problems with endometriosis
I got diagnosed with endometriosis in February 2023 but I've been on a crutch since 2022 with severe hip/abdomen pain that goes across my back and down my leg on the right side. I've been seeing my GP since February 2022 and even after my laparoscopy and diagnosis of endo in Feb 2023 I've not had much
