itching
Hi community, I have terrible itching and now being on Besremi I feel it has gotten a little worse. I plan to stay on Besremi unless it makes sense to switch to Jakafi, which I hear is excellent at controlling itch. I just got word from my dermatologist that some people have felt relief with a combination

Hiatus Hernia + Silent Reflux constant discomfort
I have read a bit about
pepsin
being a player in silent reflux. Can anyone give me any advice about what to do to alleviate this discomfort? (I have been caffeine free, no alcohol, spicy foods, tomatoes for 5 years. ) Thank you.

Thyroid meds with calcium?
Hi, I am taking .100T4 and 4.5 T3 in a.m. I take 4.5 T3 at noon and again at mid-afternoon. I have severe osteoporosis--Tscore -4.1. I am having a very hard time fitting in calcium (two 500mg doses), iron, and magnesium, all of which I need and have to be taken apart from each other. I also take

Is this a flare?
Good morning, I’m 68 and diagnosed with PMR last October, 2023. I started at 20mg. No problem with tapering until February 29, 2 weeks after I started 7.5 mg. My neck (turning both ways and especially looking down) started getting sore and stiff on both sides. Tried acetaminophen and physical therapy

Down Today
Hi. I am not having a real good day today. Stomach is hurting. I have IBS and Gerd. Have been started on digestive enzymes. Pepcid 40mgs twice a day has been cut in half. BMS are much better with the enzymes. I think its more the urpy feeling that is bothering me. Any suggestions as to how to handle

Pepcid Update
So I’ve been taking Pepcid AC for 4 days now. and I noticed that when I take it before I eat. It works better. I do still get chest pain but not right away after I eat like I used to. Usually is like in 3 hours or later at night. My stomach also doesn’t bloat as much and I can eat a bit more now.

QOL gone
Prostatectomy followed 8 months later with ADT and radiation. Mostly incontinent since. Always had overactive bladder before cancer. Urologist did cystoscope and said everything looked normal. Its been > 2 weeks and I am in constant misery. Bladder hurts and have strong feeling of needing to urinate

My GCA Update
I just got done with my MRIs and MRAs, so we’ll see if results show much. My blood test came back with sed rate normal (always has been) and C-reactive prrotein headed down. It went from normal in PMR, to 1.3 and then 2.0 in GCA. Now at 0.8, so barely high and heading in the right direction. Still feeling

Low TSH
I’m also trying to address low stomach acid by taking ACV with mother and the HCL
pepsin
with digestive bitters. I’ve been wheat, gluten and dairy free since May 22, and low fodmap for the past 6 weeks which have greatly helped my digestive issues.

I am "visiting" from the Afib forum because I found that the primary trigger for my Afib was trapped gas and bloating, associated with constipation and eating the wrong foods. I found that I have celiac disease and have made adjustments to diet and eliminated constipation, among other changes, and

Laryngopharyngeal Reflux
I also had a positive PepTest result for
Pepsin
in my throat from UK lab that sells that test. Went back to ENT specialist and he wasn’t for turning on his previous diagnosis. Nevertheless I am proceeding on the basis thst i have both, so back on low acid diet, Gaviscon, etc.

er scare
yesterday I had my worst “episode” ever—after an uneventful start to my day, I suddenly felt like I was going to collapse. Couldn’t breathe, could barely talk, weak, too weak to stand. My husband took me to er where my bp was very high (of course); spent the day. Long story short: not one thing wrong

Acid reflux
Anyone noticing difficulty swallowing along with acid reflux? I read that prednisone can cause this, causes the esophagus to not contract enough. I tried Pepcid but it's not helping.

IFAB testing guidelines per Mayo clinic laboratory website
This results in diminished or absent gastric acid,
pepsin
, and intrinsic factor (IF) production. Gastric acid and
pepsin
are required for liberation of cobalamin from binding proteins, while IF binds the free vitamin B12, carries it to receptors on the ileal mucosa, and facilitates its absorption.

Late detection
Hi there my friends, 2 years ago I was feeling gird pain and I’ve been on Pepcid, and omeprozole for 20 years off and on. So 2 years ago my bloodwork came back with very high B-12, 1500. Dr said that she was concerned but didn’t really go into advanced research. I researched it and found that several

Some Success with Avoiding Afib
After seeing my Afib rate of incidence go from once every couple of months to once a month to every 2 weeks -10 days, I finally got control of the factors which I believe were driving it.Doing that included: 1. Getting off of most of my blood pressure meds. (I only take 12.5 mg metoprolol twice a day
