I am taking .100T4 and 4.5 T3 in a.m. I take 4.5 T3 at noon and again at mid-afternoon.
I have severe osteoporosis--Tscore -4.1. I am having a very hard time fitting in calcium (two 500mg doses), iron, and magnesium, all of which I need and have to be taken apart from each other.
I also take Pepcid (for gastritis) 30 min before dinner. This can interfere with absorption of all of the above.
It seems impossible to fit all this in. I've been alternating them on different days but I'm afraid I'll end up with fractures. I don't know if there's an answer to this, but would appreciate any input.

That's an awful lot of calcium! Do you really need it? When was your calcium last tested? Calcium is neither a treatment nor a cure for osteoporosis. And can make things worse by making bones brittle.
But you certainly cannot take it at the same time as thyroid hormones. It needs to be four hours away, as does iron and magnesium - and they all need to be at least two hours away from each other. So, yes, difficult.
But, do you really need to take your T3 three times a day? Would not two hours be sufficient?
Aim for a level of 100-150nmol/L as recommended by Vit D Council
Have you considered taking Vit K2 with Vit D.
Vitamin D and Vitamin K2 work synergistically with each other to ensure that calcium is directed out of the arteries and into the bones where it helps improve bone density
Have you tested your calcium level recently? 1000mg seems a lot.
I take my T3 (large dose!) in a single dose at bedtime with no problems, some take it in the early morning. This keeps thyroid hormones well away from other medications/ supplements
Thank you. I will try two doses instead of 3. I am also taking Vit k2 and D. 1000mg is a minimum requirement for calcium. I get little or no dairy in my diet because of not tolerating any dairy and my diet is very limited also because of gastritis. The citrate is better absorbed but bothers my stomach so i am stuck taking cal carbonate which is not absorbed as well. Calcium levels were in range at my last test. Would taking t3 when i wake up in middle of night keep me awake?
Thanks, it's worth a try. Two days in, I have been OK with two doses of T3 instead of three. So far, so good--gives me more time to fit in the minerals.
