6 weeks holiday, last two unable to do much!
I am lucky, I know it, I work in education which means I get the school holidays off - especially as I am not a teacher and don't have to plan for the coming term. However, this summer has not been all sunny - and I don't mean the weather! For some reason my health has gone downhill with my left

Pain Management Clinic - Your Experiences
I've received an appointment through to a pain management clinic, which is a few weeks away. Usually, any help I can get would be welcome, but I'm increasingly anxious and stressed out about the ridiculous amount of time I am having to take off work for appointments currently. My daughter is also poorly

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site. I contracted streptococcal meningitis in December 2013. I was in hospital for 17 days then went into rehab for 4 weeks. I am now waiting to go back into rehab. The meningitis resulted in me being deaf in my left ear. My balance is impaired hence I cannot walk unaided

Hi, I'm new but my RLS isn't.
Hi. Just found this site after what feels is the thousandth time looking up RLS. I keep looking to see if there has been any miraculous cure for it, but to no avail. I've had RLS since approx my mid tens, I'm now 50. It's only been in recent years that I found it actually had a name, and that I wasn't

Pudendal nerve block
I finally had an appointment at the Pelvic Pain Clinic at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary this week and was very relieved by the empathy and understanding of the two consultants I spoke with. They did talk about trying to remove the mesh that was inserted in a TVTO two years ago but we agreed this would probably

Flunarizine
My neurologist has suggested that I might try Flunarizine. Has anyone had experience of this drug? Did it work? What is it's success rate? Topamax (topirimate) did not suit me. I found the side effects to be very unpleasant (frequent nausea, loss of appetite with consequent loss of weight and depression

A decade of panic - my story
Hello and thanks for reading As you may imagine, summing up the entirety of my experiences with anxiety and panic attacks over the last decade (or so) in a single post is a daunting task. I cannot possibly explain the effects it has had and still has on my life. However, I wanted to write something

I have been diagnosed with shingles
I have been given anti viral tablets, and stop meth and hydrox. The rash is not paining only when touched, but the pain appears to be inside my abdomen on the same side as the rash. Does anybody have any similar experiences with shingles. I dont know what I should expect.

No relief whatsoever from my symptoms - feeling I have "hit a dead end". What on earth can I do now?
Feeling pretty unhappy at present. As some of you may know, I have Endo, and I've had 4 lap surgeries so far to try and deal with it. My most recent surgery was March this year. I really don't feel I've ever been given much information (or the truth) about my Edno. All I can tell you is it took from

FFS! Erythema ab igne (hot water bottle 'syndrome')
So, for the past 18months or so I've been noticing a red/brown, spidery / blotchy rash on my inner thighs which has been getting worse. It's also on my lower back - though not as bad. Having now surfed the internet, it turns out that this is an actual medical condition caused by use of hot water bottles
