This is a very difficult question, I think it would be best to contact your consultant who treats you for your Vasculitis for advice Doghouse in the meantime we will try and find out for you.

I have a working diagnosis of GPA and last year a colleague at work had the shingles vaccine and I contacted our local rheumatology helpline who checked my file and informed me to stay away from her for 14 days as it was a live vaccine.

I would definitely check it out with your consultant as they know you best and it will depend on the medication you are on and your latest test results (white cell count etc.)

Wishing you all the best,

Ally

My mom was told she will be too old next year. If you have vasculitis I Was told you are not supposed to have a live vaccine, shingles is a live vaccine.

Dear Doghouse,

First of all- what a great name! Not that you are ever in the 'doghouse', are you????

To answer your question, as best I can, I was advised to avoid ALL 'live vaccines', except under strict medical conditions/supervision. So please do be carful.

I send you, and your mum, my best wishes.

Hi AndrewT,

Lol, I am always in the 'Doghouse' I have two boxer puppies and they had me trained in no time.

I did check with my consultant before I went and I was careful, no close contact

etc.

Kind regards

Doghouse
