tight muscles
I have previously managed these on the assumption that it is
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
. Whilst the relevant exercises seemed to hold the pain and discomfort at bay for a while and enable bowel movements to relieve constipation, the pain is getting worse.

Fed up with this anal pressure and discomfort
Consultant on phone, prior to procedure, does think functional not diet related , did suggest
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
,but I was already attending NHS physio for a mild prolapse ( rectocele) and the physio said I did not have PFD or hypertonic floor.

Pain during bowel movements?
Is this common with
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
? I feel bowel cramping before a bowel movement and slight lower abdominal pain while pushing and and I feel better until the next wave hits. Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Pelvic floor dysfunction or IC / BPS and sitting on the loo too long?
Hello, I’m still trying to find out what’s going on with me and PFD is one of the things I’m looking at along with IC/Bladder pain syndrome and endo. It’s a weird question but does anyone else find that if they sit on the toilet too long that their bladder or muscles around it start feeling tender or

New member not diagnosed.
All the va docs ever did was prescribed fiber which caused its own issues as now I've been diagnosed with
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
with dysergenic defecation so anything that isn't liquid doesn't come out without tearing which has lead to mutiple chronic fissures, prolapse and intussusception.

Urethral burning and vaginal pain after penetration (longer post, first time posting)
After doing thorough research on the internet and given the fact my very limited experience with penetration has resulted in pain most of the time, I thought maybe
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
is something I might have. Does this sound like it could be it?

Pelvic Physio for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Hello everyone, I started seeing a physiotherapist specialist in pelvic pain, three weeks ago, and the pain has definitely got worse rather than improving. She has been teaching me some exercises, a combination of respiration + contraction and release of the pelvic floor muscles, that I also have to

Diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction.
I had a proctogram examination today and it has confirmed
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
. I'm a 44 year old man and have been suffering for years with pelvic pain which was made worse after pooping. I'd suffered constipation and developed haemorrhoids from straining to defecate.

As a side note, if anyone has anything they can tell me about endometriosis as related to "
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
" (i.e. the muscles being far too tight), I am all ears! I have just learned that this may be related to endo and that's another thing to ask my consultant about!

vulvodynia
I have both vulvodynia and
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
. In the past smear tests have been a major trigger for pain to the point where in one of them I fainted. But yesterday I had a smear test no pain and was in and out in 10 minutes.

How do you know if it is IC and not just
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
? Has anyone found anything that's worked for it? Would love to hear from anyone with any experience.

Pelvic adhesions
At first I thought I had
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
, but my PT doesn’t think i do. So I am looking for other consequences of Pelvic inflammatory disease, and found a lot of articles stating that adhesions are very common in untreated cases- which mine was very untreated for months.

Endo and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction/muscle guarding/central sensitisation/chronic fatigue
Hi there, does anyone with endo suffer badly with muscle guarding? I had a lap operation in Jan but outside of the endo pain my body is shattered and feels like it is clenching all the time particularly around my pelvis, but all Over really. I feel like this is what is tiring me out on a daily basis.

Pelvic congestion syndrome?
I was diagnosed almost a year ago with
pelvic
floor
dysfunction
, which as you all know is a very vague diagnosis. It has been a year of pelvic floor therapy, muscle relaxers, antispasmadic drugs, stretching exercises etc.... And with only some improvement I have been skeptical.
